Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails at high scale The professional will join the team of a **Brazilian technology company focused on digital customer service solutions and customer relationship automation**. **Location:** Granja Julieta / Chácara Santo Antônio region – South Zone of São Paulo **Work model:** Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite (Tuesdays) and remote on other days. *️ Availability to attend **in-person events on other days**, with prior notice, is required. ### **Responsibilities** * Serve as the **technical reference for all engineering teams**, guiding high-impact decisions and ensuring alignment across teams. * Maintain **product stability**, focusing on reliability and availability, defining standards and evolving operational practices. * Lead the **observability strategy** (logs, metrics, and tracing), ensuring efficient monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics. * Drive **performance and scalability improvements**, identifying bottlenecks, setting goals, and leading structural initiatives. * Define and maintain **architecture standards** (guidelines, ADRs, best practices, shared libraries and components), reducing rework and increasing consistency. * Implement **infrastructure and platform security practices** (hardening, secret management, controls, and best practices), raising overall environment security. * Evolve and maintain **CI/CD pipelines**, improving deployment reliability, delivery speed, and quality (testing, automation, rollback). * Lead **cost optimization initiatives (FinOps)**: infrastructure efficiency, right-sizing, intelligent resource usage, and balancing cost versus performance. * Improve and sustain **internal tools and developer experience**, boosting team productivity (templates, automation, documentation, self-service). * Act **hands-on on critical and structural topics**, such as spikes, POCs, complex fixes, and deep code reviews. * **Mentor technical leaders and engineers**, elevating overall technical proficiency and disseminating best practices across squads. ### **Mandatory Requirement** * **Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails in high-scale, high-demand systems**, including: + system architecture + performance and scalability + database optimization + background jobs + caching + production-environment observability
