Job Summary: A professional responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, repairing, and distributing hospital linens, ensuring hygiene and maintenance of garments and the environment. Be part of a proactive and ethical team * Collect soiled laundry from all hospital units, sort by type of soil, verify weight relative to washer capacity, and initiate the washing process; * Dry the laundry; * Separate items requiring repair and forward them to the Sewing Department; * Sort linen items for finishing on the calender or folding, storing\-them in the linen room for subsequent distribution to hospital units. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Collect soiled laundry from all hospital units, weigh the items, and record them on the appropriate form to prepare a monthly report on laundered items; * Sort garments, items, and fibers by type of soil to ensure appropriate washing processes; * Record objects found during laundry sorting and deliver them to immediate supervisors, who will forward them to the Occupational Safety Service; * Package selected soiled laundry in weights proportional to washer capacity and initiate the washing process; * *Monitor drying time, recording start and end times on the designated form to prevent excessive drying duration, which may cause fiber wear*; * Sort linen items for finishing on the calender or folding, segregating items requiring reprocessing due to washing defects; * Separate linen items with holes, tears, or loose straps and forward them to the sewing department for necessary repairs; * Store finished items in a well-ventilated area of the linen room for subsequent distribution to hospital units; * Distribute linens to hospital units according to pre\-defined quantities, based on the bed count roster, to meet patient needs; * Clean cabinets in the Central Linen Room and in hospital units, labeling them with adhesive tape and recording in the designated logbook to maintain garment hygiene; * Clean the entire department using dry mops and wet mops, and wipe countertops with damp cloths and detergent to maintain a clean environment and minimize risks of healthcare-associated infections; * Use standardized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the department to prevent occupational accidents. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed elementary education; * Knowledge in the field; * Prior experience in this role is desirable. **Additional Information** Work schedule: 06:00–12:00 / 12:00–18:00 / 16:00–22:00 — rotating 6-day workweek with 1 day off Benefits: Meal allowance (VA), life insurance, SESC partnership, and transportation allowance (VT).
