Focusing on quality, standards, and food safety The **Sushi Chef Assistant** is responsible for supporting the sushi chef in preparing Japanese dishes, organizing the workstation, and sanitizing food items and utensils, ensuring quality, standards, and food safety. **Main Responsibilities:** * Assist in preparing sushi, sashimi, temaki, and other Japanese dishes. * Perform sanitation and cutting of vegetables, fruits, and certain seafood. * Prepare ingredients and supplies used in production. * Maintain organization and cleanliness of the workstation, utensils, and equipment. * Assist in monitoring food expiration dates and proper food storage. * Follow quality, hygiene, and food safety standards. * Support the sushi chef in plating and finalizing dishes. **Requirements:** * Completed elementary or high school education. * Prior experience in a kitchen or Japanese cuisine is desirable. * Basic knowledge of food handling. * Organizational skills, agility, and attention to detail. * Ability to work effectively in a team. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Previous experience in Japanese restaurants. * Training in food handling or culinary arts.
