




**Position:** Library Assistant **Reports to:** Librarian / Administrative and Pedagogical Coordination **Job Mission:** The Library Assistant supports the daily operations of the school library, ensuring organization, preservation, and smooth functioning of the space. Responsible for assisting students and teachers, supporting lending and return processes, and contributing to promoting reading and research. Works in partnership with the Librarian to keep the collection updated and accessible, collaborating within the school’s bilingual and multicultural environment. **Responsibilities and Duties** User Service and Support * Welcome students, teachers, and visitors to the library, providing courteous and efficient service. * Assist in locating books and materials, guiding users in the proper use of the space and resources. * Manage loan, return, and renewal records in the library system. * Guide students on best practices for book usage and preservation. Collection Organization and Maintenance * Support cataloging and physical organization of library materials. * Keep shelves and the space organized, ensuring easy access to books. * Assist in periodic inventories and checking the condition of the collection. * Perform minor maintenance tasks and refer damaged materials for repair. Support for Activities and Projects * Collaborate in implementing reading promotion projects and cultural events organized by the library. * Help set up thematic exhibitions and promote new titles. * Participate in decorating and arranging the space for campaigns and educational projects. Administrative and Operational Routines * Maintain updated records of material circulation and user attendance. * Assist in controlling office supplies and materials used in the library. * Ensure cleanliness, safety, and preservation of the environment. * Assist teachers with copying and printing. **Hard Skills** * High school diploma completed * Technical course or ongoing degree in Library Science, Social Sciences, Languages, or Pedagogy is desirable. * Basic computer skills and knowledge of library management systems. * Intermediate English proficiency. **Soft Skills** * Organization and attention to detail. * Clear and empathetic communication. * Proactivity and willingness to learn. * Collaborative spirit and teamwork ability. * Responsibility and commitment to deadlines and routines. **Cultural Fit:** **We care** – Cares for people with respect and empathy.
