Inspection and triage of biological material **Job Details** -------------------- **What are the challenges of the area and role:** The candidate will perform support activities for the production workflow, preparing biological samples for diagnostic testing. **Main Responsibilities:** Perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment, as well as recordkeeping in designated forms. Monitor equipment maintenance within the department; Prioritize tests distributed by the Sample Distribution Center (SDC), according to chain-of-custody indicators (date and time) or color-coded urgency/emergency labels; Monitor temperatures of production equipment: refrigerators, freezers, and cold rooms; Perform equipment cleaning and defrosting; Dispose of biological material using all recommended PPE for the activity; Retrieve biological material and kits from the cold room (2–8°C or \-20°C), using all PPE required for handling contaminant and intensely cold materials. Visually verify samples pre-analytically sorted and separated by equipment for re-inspection, Perform inspection and sorting of Biological Material per departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP); Assess compatibility and condition of biological material, identifying and documenting discrepancies or recollections; Scan samples using a barcode reader to confirm destination. Inspect biological material; Perform triage and storage of samples by test type; Record sample intake, generating worklists; Assign numeric identification and uncapping, if necessary, for biological samples, tubes, and slides; Assist in receiving and storing materials delivered by the Warehouse; Replenish sample sorters; Perform serotyping of samples; **We seek candidates who have**: Completed high school.
