We are looking for a **Workplace Safety Technician** to join our team! The professional will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting accident prevention initiatives, and contributing to a safe and healthy working environment.
Location: Matozinhos/MG Unit.
Working Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:48 PM
Responsibilities:
* Analyze workstations and their installations to identify potential accident causes; isolate or signal hazardous areas; guide employees to implement preventive measures and ensure physical integrity. Join the SESMT (Specialized Services in Occupational Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine), as required, according to area of expertise.
* Guide employees on unsafe working conditions and actions, indicating required procedures and necessary precautions to preserve health and physical integrity;
* Inspect safety and fire-fighting equipment, verifying proper functionality and taking appropriate action when needed to ensure workplace safety;
* Arrange supply or replacement of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for employees, verifying need based on activity performed and workplace location; issue requisitions to the warehouse via system; instruct on proper use; record in individual files — all to ensure workplace safety.
* Accompany third parties during environmental measurements, gathering data to support corrective actions and preparation of PPRA and PGR (Risk Management Plan).
* Participate in maintaining the Emergency Plan, anticipating emergency scenarios and suggesting appropriate responses if they occur.
* Inspect, authorize, and supervise operational, maintenance, and project-related activities involving heat, gases, noise, heights, confined spaces, load lifting, excavation, and high-power electrical work — ensuring worker health preservation.
* Participate in new employee onboarding programs, addressing topics relevant to your area of responsibility, highlighting hazardous points present at facilities, guiding on uniform, equipment, and safety material usage, explaining internal accident prevention rules, and clarifying duties and obligations of each new employee — aiming to prevent accidents.
* Issue equipment operation authorizations, verifying ASO (Occupational Health Certificate), checking required specific training certificates, and issuing ID badges — ensuring only qualified operators perform such tasks.
* Conduct internal and third-party operational controls, as well as departmental audits, observing certifier standards to prevent non-conformances.
* Conduct formal behavioral audits, identifying and correcting procedures non-compliant with regulations, aiming for correction.
* Guide and accompany activities carried out by CIPA (Internal Commission for Accident Prevention), participating in periodic meetings and resolving existing questions; also participate in PPRA (Program for the Prevention of Environmental Risks), seeking compliance with requirements set forth by the Ministry of Labor.
* Participate in coordinating SIPAT (Internal Week for Accident Prevention).
* Issue PPP (Professional Occupational Profile) upon employee termination or upon request.
* Guide the reception team regarding PPE provision to visitors and service providers, supplying necessary equipment for distribution.
* Be accountable for the quality, reliability, and performance of resources, services, and information generated by tasks under your responsibility.
* Know, apply, promote, and suggest practices focused on workplace safety and environmental preservation; participate in company-promoted programs; contribute to eliminating situations that could pose occupational accident risks or environmental degradation.
* Safeguard company assets, reporting needs for maintenance, repair, and/or replacement whenever necessary.
* Support immediate supervisors on matters inherent to your area of responsibility, presenting and discussing problems and irregularities to help define applicable procedures and actions.
* Perform activities in accordance with defined operational procedures.
* Participate in Safety Dialogues and/or trainings related to activities, staying informed about risk aspects and conditions in work tasks, correct use of PPE and collective protective equipment (EPC), and becoming aware of scheduled tasks for the day and/or week — aiming to prevent accidents and unsafe conditions.
* Execute actions that can promote continuous improvement in company process performance.
Requirements:
Completed Technical Course in Workplace Safety;
Experience in industry or mining;
Knowledge of ISO 45001
Desirable Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Production Engineering, or related fields.
Residence in the northern region of Belo Horizonte.
