Description
Operate the most complex steam production and cooling system processes, independently performing technical activities related to measurement, treatment, and monitoring of chemical products, as well as the water and effluent treatment plant, thereby ensuring proper operation of machinery and equipment and departmental productivity. Prioritize process efficiency and achievement of targets. Act as a catalyst for the development of other area colleagues by providing support and training, aiming to standardize processes and ensure delivery quality.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
Operate steam generation area equipment, managing water, air, and biomass controls to produce steam meeting quality and safety standards;
Start up the boiler into operational mode, performing all biomass (conveyor belt) and water handling procedures in accordance with the logical startup sequence for a boiler;
Prepare machinery and equipment for operation and autonomously control boiler operation and water quality;
Operate the steam production and cooling system processes during your shift, verifying equipment functionality, assigning tasks to be performed, and supervising operators’ work to ensure their productivity and safety;
Operate boilers, cooling towers, chillers, water and effluent treatment plants with high autonomy;
Prepare daily production and quality reports to identify deviations from production process standards, enabling timely corrective actions and reporting to the Utilities Team Leader and Supervisor;
Conduct daily inspections of departmental equipment to identify potential failures and promptly notify Maintenance, Utilities Team Leader, and Supervisor;
Complete forms, checklists, and similar documents;
Prepare shift-related incident reports and hand over relevant information to the next shift;
Prepare reports containing steam production data, water production data, chemical treatment data, and machine downtime hours with moderate autonomy, for overall production monitoring and control purposes;
Guide other area colleagues on company regulations, work and safety procedures, and other job-related matters;
Identify and assess root causes of equipment malfunction to facilitate prompt necessary repairs;
Maintain workplace organization, hygiene, and cleanliness to foster a conducive working environment;
Perform job duties strictly adhering to all occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations and procedures established by the organization, and consistently use all mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the position and department. You are responsible for immediately informing your direct supervisor of any activity posing a risk to your health or that of fellow workers;
Carry out duties in alignment with the company’s values, policies, guidelines, procedures, and processes, always focusing on organizational goals while safeguarding and maintaining confidentiality of company information;
Uphold discipline within the 5S program, aiming for safe operations through consistent workplace organization, standardization, and cleanliness;
Safeguard company property under your responsibility and report any issues or damages detected to your immediate supervisor.
