As a **Commissioning and Start-up Specialist**, your **main responsibilities** include:
* + Participate alongside site management teams in finalizing industrial plant assembly processes at customer manufacturing facilities, supporting the Commissioning and Start-up Manager in analyzing the entire assembly structure — including civil, electrical, automation, instrumentation, piping, and process engineering — to identify potential civil engineering and assembly defects
+ Support the Commissioning and Start-up Manager in defining commissioning priorities, based on areas of highest complexity, highest instrument volume, and those requiring early start-up, to initiate the commissioning process.
+ Support the Commissioning and Start-up Manager in managing all execution stages of commissioning for each discipline and equipment of the customer’s industrial plant, assisting commissioning engineering teams in adhering to the defined schedule and handling all related documentation, such as inspection checklists, progress curves, equipment and instrument release protocol verifications, inspection procedures for each equipment, integration levels among engineering disciplines, and other variables — ensuring identification and technical resolution of all operational and technological failures, aiming for full functionality of all plant equipment.
+ Participate in meetings with the Customer jointly with the Area Commissioning Manager, and substitute for them when necessary, always striving to build strong customer relationships.
+ Support the Commissioning and Start-up Manager in developing training and qualification plans for customer operations and maintenance teams, ensuring proper equipment handling from the commissioning phase through factory start-up and formal plant handover to the customer.
+ Deliver training to customer operations teams — from operators to equipment and process operation managers — covering equipment technology descriptions, operation principles, operating modes, adjustment parameters, troubleshooting parameters, and other relevant variables, based on the training plan, clarifying doubts and evaluating initial practical operation to ensure operational functionality.
+ Ensure organization and control of all documents generated during commissioning processes, enabling availability to customers and archiving by Andritz’s responsible project teams, preserving commissioning history for future improvements, renovations, maintenance, etc.
+ Ensure cleaning of all equipment and associated piping during commissioning processes to prevent equipment risks during subsequent operation.
+ Support the Commissioning and Start-up Manager in managing post-commissioning and cleaning activities, including Water Run procedures to finalize measurement instrument calibration, new motor tests, group start/stop tests, new control logic adjustments, and other procedures — preparing the plant for final start-up.
+ Support the Commissioning and Start-up Manager in managing the industrial plant start-up, assisting in human resource scheduling for operations and defining responsibilities for multidisciplinary engineering teams to provide appropriate technical support and guidance to customer operators during first production/start-up actions, evaluating results in terms of equipment adjustments per discipline, process parameter tuning, equipment performance (temperature, vibration, noise, belt drive activation, piping vibration, and other operational and maintenance aspects), ensuring recording of evolution and implemented adjustments to achieve plant stability in the shortest possible time.
+ Provide post-plant acceptance certification support to the customer, remaining available for due guidance and clarification, or delivering additional training as needed, to guarantee plant operability.
+ Support execution of final plant acceptance tests.
+ Promote synergy among multidisciplinary commissioning teams, considering nationalities and cultural differences, motivation levels, technical and behavioral competencies, attendance, customer relationship quality, standardization of deliverables, and other premises — aiming to achieve commissioning and start-up goals.
+ Actively develop solutions upon client request, assessing needs, developing solution alternatives, and involving other multidisciplinary teams as required.
+ Pursue new business opportunities with new or existing customers, conducting technical visits to map needs, collecting information, proposing technical solutions, submitting cost allocations, and generating technical-commercial proposals for subsequent negotiation and implementation as applicable.
+ Develop customer relationships across multiple factories using the same “factory language.”
+ Support sales with an operational perspective to address each factory’s operational needs.
+ Serve as the technical lead responsible for project/construction execution and technical leadership (guidance and development) of the team.
We expect you to possess the following **technical competencies**:
* + CALCULATIONS \- Relate concepts schematically and technically, applying logical reasoning, analyzing and combining data to solve problems.
+ EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR PAPER AND PULP PRODUCTION \- Equipment applied in pulp and paper manufacturing processes — such as digesters, boilers, motors, pumps — and other related technologies aligned with responsibilities of this role.
+ AUTOMATED CONTROL STRATEGIES \- Management process for automated production activities, including definition of programming logic for systems and equipment controlling process operations.
+ PROCESS MANAGEMENT \- Use of tools and techniques applied to monitoring, analysis, and management of routine processes. May include decision-making to modify processes for continuous improvement and greater efficiency.
+ METRIZ \- IIoT tool developed by Andritz for customized use at customer sites.
+ PRODUCTIVE PROCESSES \- Knowledge of processes involved in industrial operations — including production itself, installation, conservation, and maintenance of equipment and machinery used, safety and accident prevention equipment and applications, and other aspects of industrial operations.
+ Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate Excel)
+ Basic English.
We expect you to have the following **education**:
Technical education in chemistry, electrical, mechanical, or production fields.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
