**Who Are You?**
Do you want to join a dynamic and agile team developing solutions that directly contribute to Volvo’s mission of driving prosperity through transportation and infrastructure? We are looking for Automotive Embedded Software Engineers with experience in Powertrain Control and Transmission Systems. As part of our team, you will develop state-of-the-art embedded software for commercial vehicles — from diesel and alternative-fuel trucks to electric trucks. Our team operates in a multifunctional and global manner, collaborating with colleagues in Brazil, Sweden, and France.
**Your Role in the Team**
For this position, we seek engineers capable of performing the following activities:
* + Focus on gearbox calibration, ensuring appropriate parameterization for various vehicle applications.
+ Optimize and validate software parameters to meet requirements across different markets, vehicle variants, and operating conditions.
+ Collaborate with system and test teams to deliver reliable, production-ready calibrations.
+ Perform diagnostics and analysis on vehicles to support root-cause identification and solution development.
+ Lead embedded software projects by planning and coordinating development activities.
+ Organize multifunctional collaboration to ensure deliveries meet quality, cost, and timeline objectives.
+ Align technical solutions with system and product requirements throughout the entire lifecycle.
**Your Key Responsibilities Will Include**
* Design, develop, calibrate, troubleshoot, and/or lead projects for Powertrain control functions.
* Collaborate with hardware, system, and calibration engineers for seamless integration.
* Conduct embedded software testing, verification, and validation.
* Perform troubleshooting activities on vehicles to support problem resolution and validation.
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
* Engage across the full product lifecycle: advanced engineering, product development, and maintenance.
**What We’re Looking For**
* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science (or related fields).
* Practical experience in embedded software development or calibration.
* Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink/ASCET and C programming.
* Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese.
* A responsible, proactive, and open-minded professional with a team-oriented mindset.
* Availability for on-site work.
**What Will Set You Apart**
* Experience in Powertrain Control or Transmission Systems.
* Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and standards (CAN, AUTOSAR, ASPICE).
* Experience with measurement and verification tools (ATI Vision, CANalyzer).
* Additional programming skills (Python, Matlab scripting).
* Commercial driver’s license (considered a plus).
* Motivation to drive solutions from system design through verification.
