Phenotyping Supervisor

Job Summary: A professional responsible for identifying trial sites, conducting yield trials, overseeing planting operations, collecting phenotypic data, and ensuring experimental and safety quality. Experience in research with corn, soybean, and sorghum Responsibilities: * Identify external locations for establishing yield trials, observations, and phenotyping activities; * Map trial areas, including allocations within center-pivot irrigation systems to ensure experimental quality; * Oversee planting operations, crop management practices, and communications with third parties and partner farmers to ensure optimal conditions for each project; * Support documentation for permission agreements with farmers and third parties; * Provide agronomic management guidance, review protocols, and ensure data quality; * Perform ear analyses using photometry or similar methods; * Ensure planting quality by adhering to optimal planting dates and seasons for each crop; * Collect phenotypic data using technological tools that support product advancement; * Evaluate plot quality and monitor trials via drone flights or similar methods; * Assess grain yield of experimental plots through mechanical or manual harvesting; * Ensure field equipment used in activities is safe and complies with safety policies, leading calibration and maintenance efforts to minimize wear and experimental error. * Ensure proper execution of quality management protocols and safety procedures across all activities. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering (postgraduate studies in agronomy- or biology-related fields are preferred). * Minimum 3 years’ experience implementing and managing research experiments in corn, soybean, and sorghum. * Experience collecting data via remote sensing (e.g., drones). * Intermediate English proficiency is preferred. * Strong teamwork skills and ability to lead groups during field activities. * Problem-solving capability. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), iOS, and email applications. * Valid Brazilian driver’s license, Category B or higher. * Willingness to travel.
