Field Testing Supervisor

Job Summary: A professional to identify, implement, and monitor yield trials, phenotyping, and quality evaluations using advanced technologies and data management. Key Highlights: 1. Identification and implementation of yield trials and phenotyping 2. Use of drone technology for spraying, imaging, and data analysis 3. Management of historical databases and support for product advancement Responsibilities: * Identify external locations for implementing yield trials, observations, and phenotyping; * Map areas including allocations in center-pivot systems to ensure experimental quality; * Monitor planting, field operations, and communications with third parties and partner farmers to ensure optimal conditions for each project; * Support data collection for permission agreements with farmers and third parties; * Liaise with the internal department responsible for generating agreements; * Provide agronomic guidance, review protocols, and ensure data quality; * Knowledge of drone technology for spraying and imaging, as well as analysis and processing of such data; * Collect phenotypic data using technological tools that support product advancement; * Evaluate plot quality and monitor trials via drone flights or similar methods; * Assess grain yield from experimental plots through mechanical or manual harvesting; * Ensure field equipment used in activities is safe and complies with safety policies, leading calibrations and maintenance to minimize wear and experimental error. * Ensure proper execution of quality management protocols and safety procedures across all activities. * Perform data quality analysis in the system to support product advancement; * Serve as the focal point for IT, software, and hardware. * Introduction to emerging robotic and related technologies; * Manage historical databases for crops handled at the site — locations, experimental plots, costs, hectares, etc., generating infographics. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Agricultural and Forestry Engineering. * Postgraduate studies, Master’s, or Ph.D. are preferred; * Experience in implementing and conducting research experiments (minimum 3 years) in corn, soybean, and sorghum. * Experience in remote sensing data collection (e.g., drones). * Experience in drone image analysis and processing; * Intermediate English proficiency is preferred. * Strong teamwork and leadership skills for field activities. * Problem-solving ability. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), iOS, email, and Power BI. * Driver’s license category B or higher. * Willingness to travel.
