As an **Instrumentation Technician I**, your **main responsibilities** will include:
* Identify and propose improvements to maintenance systems
* Propose revisions to maintenance procedures
* Prepare technical reports
* Verify functionality of measurement, control, and actuation systems
* Diagnose typical instrument and measurement system failures, following available methodologies
* Perform field and bench repairs and maintenance
* Execute corrective and preventive maintenance (time-based or condition-based), calibrations, and adjustments in the field
* Configure technological instruments (analog and microprocessor-based)
* Support planning and scheduling of maintenance activities with relevant information
* Record maintenance and calibration data and events in information systems
* Communicate requirements for "as-built" documentation
* Implement improvements
* Perform equipment installation and replacement
* Monitor equipment operation via the system
* Verify equipment technical specifications and installation conditions against project requirements
* Support equipment and system commissioning tests and startups, as well as equipment installation and replacement
We expect you to possess the following **technical competencies**:
* Instrumentation concepts (Range, Span, Repeatability, Hysteresis, Sensitivity, Accuracy, TAGs, etc.)
* Principles of measurement, process measurement and control systems (pressure, flow, level, temperature, analyzers, etc.)
* Specification and application of process variable measurement instruments
* Concepts of predictive, preventive, corrective maintenance, and calibration of measurement systems
* Documentation (loop diagrams, P&I flowcharts, interlock logic diagrams, data sheets)
* Concepts of actuators, controllers, and meters within a control loop
* Characteristics and operation of control valves and their accessories — essential for conventional instrumentation
* Hart technology in smart instruments (handheld devices and Hart networks)
* Components of digital control systems (I/O cards, control cards, DCS architecture)
* Fieldbus-enabled instruments (Profibus and Foundation Fieldbus)
* Metrology (basic metrology concepts, ISO 9001 metrological requirements) — desirable
* Maintenance concepts (function, failure, defect, corrective, preventive, predictive, detective, etc.)
* MS Office (essential) and SAP — desirable
* ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards — desirable
We expect you to have the following **education**:
* Currently pursuing a Technical Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrotechnics, Electroelectronics, Mechatronics, Metrology, or Automation; or a Technology degree in any of these fields.
* Technical maintenance experience in instrumentation within an industrial setting
The following experiences or skills are **desirable but not mandatory**:
* Experience in continuous processes — preferably in pulp and paper
