Handling in Friction Die Press: With the help of pliers, the operator picks up the heated piece and places it into the press, activates it using a lever; the press lowers to shape the piece as intended. Another employee uses pliers to remove the piece and places it on a metal bench nearby for the next step. This person also regularly lubricates the die using a metal rod with a cloth pad at the tip soaked in burnt oil and graphite. Trimming Press: An employee, using pliers, takes the heated piece, places it into the press, and activates it via a pedal. The press lowers and trims the piece, removing excess material (flash). Once completed, the piece drops to a lower level within the same die. The same employee removes the leftover scrap with pliers and places it into a metal box for disposal. Another employee removes the finished piece and places it into another metal container destined for shipping.
