Summary: Receive, verify, label, and weigh customer samples for internal or third-party analysis; prepare and dispatch third-party samples; conduct daily checks and maintenance of laboratory instruments; perform sample grinding and aliquoting; manage cleaning of workbenches, instruments, equipment, glassware, and workstations; properly dispose of reagents, samples, and process waste; support quality control sample preparation. Responsibilities * Receive, verify, label, and weigh customer samples for internal or third-party analysis; assess suitability for analysis; contact third parties to align information and customers in case of discrepancies; determine whether analysis should proceed or if another sample must be submitted—ensuring accurate sample identification. * Prepare and dispatch third-party samples, labeling them with the FoodChain ID code; arrange transportation; dispatch samples; and ensure appropriate storage conditions, especially for frozen samples. * Conduct daily checks and maintenance of laboratory instruments—including blades, processors, cups, thermometers, balances, and others. * Perform grinding and aliquoting of samples using required equipment; collect duplicate samples; grind until achieving the particle size and quantity necessary for analysis. * Manage cleaning of workbenches, instruments, equipment, glassware, and workstations—washing, sanitizing, and adhering to company-defined standards—to ensure process quality and prevent cross-contamination. * Dispose of reagents, samples, and process waste in designated company locations to ensure proper disposal. * Support quality control sample preparation as needed. * Comply with internal health and safety regulations as well as those of clients. * Identify deviations, risks, and/or opportunities in daily tasks and promptly inform responsible personnel to define appropriate actions and align with the team. * Maintain and safeguard confidentiality of all information. * Provide information to colleagues regarding questions about completed work. * Carry out additional duties of similar nature and complexity, within defined scope of responsibility, as required by the department and/or immediate supervisor. Technical Knowledge Required: * Basic laboratory knowledge. * Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic software.
