




Job Summary: Operate rock drilling equipment to perform drilling tasks, conduct checklists, move through tunnels, maintain equipment, and report activities—all in strict compliance with safety regulations. Interact with the team and report activities for efficient management Operate rock drilling equipment for rock fragmentation, tunnel excavation, rock bolt installation, as well as roof support and equipment anchoring drilling. **Responsibilities and Duties** * Conduct pre-shift checklist, verifying functionality of controls and electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; rigorously test the system according to its specifications and necessary precautions before commencing work, in accordance with the operation manual and safety rules. * Navigate tunnels with limited space while operating equipment equipped with energized devices, water and compressed air pipelines, observing and adhering to the mine’s underground traffic plan. * Carry out tasks according to instructions and service priorities set by the immediate supervisor, properly using required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE), complying with regulations, procedures, occupational safety and health standards, environmental requirements, quality standards, and social responsibility. * Wash drill rods and arms, lubricate components, top up oil levels, and verify tire pressure calibration on operated equipment. * Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of operated equipment and associated accessories, performing minor repairs and cleaning the worksite. * Collaborate with supervision and other operators to manage road surface conditions, occupational safety and health status across various mine areas. * Interact with other operators and exchange information regarding operated equipment and related tasks. * Report to the control room a summary of all performed activities, general status of equipment and worksite, and any anomalies observed—enabling appropriate corrective actions. * Conduct visual inspection of the worksite, checking ventilation systems, emergency exits, communication systems, presence/occurrence of "Choco" (unstable rock blocks), existence of geological faults and/or plugged holes, water and air leaks, damage to electrical cables, and other irregularities—reporting all findings to the immediate supervisor. * Install equipment by laying electric cables and hoses on opposite sides and ensuring proper drainage in the channel. * Operate appropriate equipment for rock drilling and fragmentation in accordance with established drilling patterns and containment plans, injecting grout/resin per supervisor instructions and training standards. * Energize equipment by connecting the electric cable plug to the power outlet. * Achieve correct parallelism and drilling angle as required, adapting to variations in rock mass characteristics and prescribed drilling pattern. * Replace centralizing bushings, re-tighten bolts, nuts, hose terminals, replace handles, replace stage I and II hoses, and re-tighten hose connections or terminals exhibiting hydraulic leaks—as needed and per received instructions and training. * Perform "Choco" sanitation operations on tunnel roofs and sidewalls using Jumbo and bolting equipment (Boltec and Jumbo). * Inform the assistant operator about bolting and containment activities, providing relevant operational information and safety principles. * Perform maneuvers in confined, poorly lit, and low-visibility underground mine areas to carry out tasks stipulated in the equipment’s standard operating procedure manual. * Maintain equipment tooling and operational wear-and-tear replacement parts. * Perform minor mechanical repairs (e.g., replacing hydraulic hoses, bolts, guards, belts, re-tightening connections, etc.) upon shift supervisor’s request. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Completed high school education * Experience in underground mining * Driver’s license category B **Additional Information** * Chartered transportation * On-site meals * Medical assistance * Dental assistance * Life insurance * Funeral assistance * Meal allowance * Christmas basket * Daycare assistance * Housing allowance * PPR (Profit Sharing Plan) At P.A.
