### **Description** **Technical Accounting Manager** Malta Hybrid, two days in office Permanent We are a fast\-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyd’s, Europe and North America. Our Head of Group Reporting is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting group financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with international standards, and driving process improvements across our operations.### **Key Responsibilities** * Manage journals in SUN, particularly those relating to technical provisions, claims reserves, and reinsurance balances * Prepare Group consolidation workings, as well as inputs for quarterly and annual reporting packs for senior management and the Board. * Develop and review reconciliations to ensure accuracy of technical balances, including premiums, claims and reinsurance. * Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with IFRS/UK GAAP and regulatory submissions under Solvency II/BSCR. * Collaborate with Actuarial teams to ensure precise recognition of technical provisions and capital requirements. * Partner with auditors and regulators, providing detailed reconciliations and technical explanations. * Drive improvements in consolidation, reporting and finance system processes. ### **Skills Knowledge and Expertise** * Right to work in this location * Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA or equivalent). * Substantial post\-qualification experience in insurance or reinsurance. * Deep expertise in Solvency II, IFRS and/or UK GAAP, with strong insurance technical accounting knowledge (reserving, provisions, reinsurance). * Proven experience in regulatory submissions and audit processes. * Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; advanced Excel proficiency. * Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to work effectively with auditors, regulators and actuarial teams. * Hands\-on experience with SUN General Ledger is desirable. * Contributing positively to our culture and values. ### **Benefits** * competitive salary \& annual bonus * a health \& wellbeing subsidy (equivalent to £20 per month in local currency from Day 1\) * a generous pension with IVALIFE at 5% (eligible after probationary period) * permanent health insurance (PHI) (subject to the rules of the scheme) * Health Insurance hospital scheme via MAPFRE Middlesea (from Day 1\) * annual leave plus bank holidays (from Day 1\) * EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) (from Day 1\) * learning/study support and reimbursement for professional memberships * hybrid working * employee socials and recognition programme * free onsite office parking ### **About Compre Group** Compre is an insurance \& reinsurance legacy specialist focused on the acquisition and management of discontinued non\-life portfolios, With Operations in Bermuda, Finland, Germany, Malta, Switzerland and the UK.
