Description:
1\- Specialist Qualification Registration (RQE) issued by the Regional Medical Council as a Neurosurgeon, or protocol confirming application for such registration;
OR
2\- Specialist title in Neurosurgery awarded by the Brazilian Neurosurgical Association / Brazilian Medical Association;
OR
3\- Certificate and/or declaration confirming completion of, or current enrollment in, neurosurgery residency or specialization from the 4th year onward, issued by a hospital accredited by the Ministry of Education (MEC), and/or neurosurgery specialization from centers accredited by the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery (SBN).
* Provide humanized medical care;
* Perform medical history taking and clinical examination, ordering complementary tests when necessary, and establishing management plans, procedures, and interventions;
* Perform activities relevant to the medical specialty: vascular surgical pathologies (cerebral aneurysm, cerebral and spinal arteriovenous malformation), central and peripheral nervous system tumors, traumatic and degenerative spinal disorders, compressive disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems;
* Accurately record patient information in medical records according to institutional standards and those established by the Unified Health System (SUS);
* Routinely and frequently provide patients and their families with information regarding diagnosis and treatment, whenever necessary;
* Monitor patient progress;
* Identify patient-related complications;
* Refer patients to the healthcare network to ensure continuity of care;
* Implement disease prevention and health promotion activities;
* Prepare and complete routine administrative and medical documents;
* Conduct medical expert evaluations, audits, and investigations;
* Assume technical responsibility for work before the professional regulatory council;
* Support coordination activities;
* Adhere to ethical principles throughout professional practice;
* Participate in collegiate bodies upon request, contributing to discussions and resolution of issues raised;
* Assist in collecting data, monitoring, and achieving indicators and targets outlined in departmental action plans;
* Fulfill institutional requests to serve as Preceptor, Tutor, Instructor, and/or Coordinator in teaching activities;
* Participate, together with the multidisciplinary team, in meetings, committees, health surveillance programs, biosafety initiatives, hospital epidemiology, and accident prevention efforts, contributing as required within the scope of professional competence;
* Support hospital coordinations on matters related to the area of expertise, proposing and discussing solutions to problems and irregularities to assist in defining actions to be taken and supporting continuous improvement of departmental processes;
* Participate in the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), applying them in daily practice;
* Participate in, or act as facilitator for, Permanent Education activities as required and in accordance with institutional policy, within the scope of professional responsibilities;
* Ensure proper care of materials and equipment under personal responsibility used in daily work, thereby extending their service life;
* Perform duties while observing occupational safety requirements, correctly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all activities, complying with applicable legislation and institutional norms;
* Support the immediate supervisor on matters related to the area of expertise, proposing and discussing solutions to problems and irregularities to assist in defining actions to be taken and supporting continuous improvement of departmental processes;
* Perform other related tasks of equivalent complexity upon request by the immediate supervisor.
