We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Manager with solid experience in urban transportation fleet management, team leadership, and a focus on availability, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. This professional will be responsible for ensuring operational continuity, cost control, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of the fleet to ensure high vehicle availability for daily operations.
Lead maintenance and operational support teams, directly managing up to 60 employees.
Plan and monitor maintenance scheduling aligned with operations, minimizing impact on user service.
Implement and lead Results Improvement Groups (RIGs) focused on fuel, operations, absenteeism, safety, ergonomics, and FMEA.
Develop and apply SWOT analysis for maintenance, structuring routines for indicator monitoring.
Manage fleet reliability using tools such as FMEA, 5 Whys, RAF, and 5W2H, focusing on reducing recurring failures.
Promote and consolidate application of the 6Cs (Cost, Reliability, Capacity, Competence, Commitment, Communication) in mechanical maintenance, integrating them into routines, indicators, and management practices, with emphasis on fleet availability, operational efficiency, and team engagement.
Deliver and/or coordinate technical and behavioral training, including Maintenance Management, Quality Tools, Economic Driving, 5S, and Reliability.
Lead KAIZEN projects focused on cost reduction, Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB), and standardization of processes and work instructions.
Monitor and be accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet and maintenance.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Traffic, Occupational Safety, and HR departments, supporting internal campaigns such as Yellow May, SIPAT, and Green April.
Participate in periodic benchmarking sessions with urban transportation system managers.
**Requirements:**
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Solid experience in mechanical maintenance management, preferably in urban transportation or heavy-duty fleets.
Proven experience leading large teams.
Strong knowledge of fleet indicators, reliability, and cost control.
Proficiency in continuous improvement tools (FMEA, 5 Whys, 5W2H, KAIZEN, RIGs).
Analytical, organized profile with results- and safety-oriented mindset.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Experience with public transportation concession contracts.
Experience with cost reduction and efficiency programs.
