**Description:** Surgical Nursing Technician\-SURGICAL BLOCK\- FIXED-TERM\- Concordia Unit **Salary:** R$2\.021.52\+ benefits **Schedule:** 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts on a 36-hour rotation **Requirements:** Completed High School Education and Technical Nursing Course; Experience as a Surgical Nursing Technician in the Surgical Block **Desirable (an advantage for candidates but not mandatory for hiring):** Experience in the Surgical Block. Provide high-quality care to surgical patients, promoting safe surgery practices in accordance with guidelines established by the Surgical Block (BLC). Participate in the Institution’s Fire Brigade, attending scheduled trainings, meetings, and drills, acting preventively and, if necessary, guiding others on emergency evacuation procedures and exits; Adhere strictly to the professional Code of Ethics and applicable legislation; Maintain ethical conduct, demonstrating respect and legality; Treat all individuals courteously, with enthusiasm and planning; Notify immediate supervisor of absences, tardiness, and request permission for scheduled absences or early departures; Actively participate in activities, trainings, and meetings coordinated by Nursing Supervision and Coordination; Follow sector-established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Protocols (PRS); Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated by the sector; Verify scheduled surgeries for the operating room according to monthly/daily scheduling; Provide surgical materials required for procedures when assigned to work in the central supply area (arsenal); Set up operating rooms, arranging materials and medications according to the planned surgical procedure and medical team requests; Perform daily equipment checklists, anesthesia supplies, and monitor temperature and humidity levels in operating rooms; Transport patients between pre-operative and post-operative units and inpatient wards; Instruct external patients on changing into surgical gowns and securing personal belongings, recording this information on the designated form; Confirm that external patients have brought all required examinations for their scheduled procedure; Verify correctness of the admission form and ensure the patient is properly identified with the wristband; Confirm completion of the Informed Consent Form for the Procedure, the General Consent Form, and the COVID-19 Consent Form; Implement the Safe Surgery Protocol for all patients undergoing surgical procedures; Report adverse events to Nursing Supervision; Receive patients in the operating room and execute sector-established processes and protocols (e.g., establishing large-bore intravenous access, performing surgical site trichotomy, monitoring the patient, and assisting the anesthesia and surgical teams in other procedures); Deliver humane and safe care to patients throughout anesthesia and surgery, following medical team instructions; Conduct double-checks with Nursing Supervision and record in the logbook all specimens sent to the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory and all fluids and samples sent to the Clinical Laboratory; Perform double-checks and dispatch blood samples to the Transfusion Agency and the Clinical Laboratory; Dispatch specimens to the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory daily at scheduled times; Forward fluid containers to the Clinical Laboratory for proper storage, ensuring standardized labeling and documentation; Transfer the patient to the recovery room after completion of the surgical procedure, accompanied by all completed and stamped documents; Dismantle the operating room, send contaminated materials to the decontamination area (expurgo), and document them on the standard form; Maintain organization and cleanliness of operating rooms during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases; Organize sterilized materials in the BLC arsenal, routinely checking expiration dates of all items; Document the release of any material from the BLC arsenal intended for use in other departments or by physicians at other institutions; Maintain and organize departmental equipment, safeguarding institutional assets; Keep the BLC organized and report needs for building maintenance, equipment servicing, and replacement of damaged items; Conduct daily assessment of department-specific risks and document occurrences of risk management failures; Report such failures to Nursing Supervision; Notify the department nurse of any non-conformities; Comply with institutional inter-departmental reassignment policies when required; Participate in and suggest process improvements using quality tools (e.g., SOPs, protocols, process maps); Complete nursing reports at the end of each shift; Relay the schedule of upcoming surgeries in the absence of Nursing Supervision; Comply with the Nursing Code of Ethics, the Internal Nursing Regulations, Institutional Policies, and the Department’s Internal Regulations; Observe safety standards, environmental control measures, and other internal regulations or legislation relevant to assigned duties; Perform other similar tasks as directed by management. 2511290202181836413
