**Description:** Surgical Nursing Technician – SURGICAL BLOCK – FIXED-TERM POSITION – Concórdia Unit **Salary:** R$1,653.96 + benefits **Schedule:** Monday to Saturday, 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM **Required:** Completed high school education and a Technical Nursing course; experience working as a nursing technician in the Surgical Block **Desirable (an advantage for candidates, but not mandatory for hiring):** Experience in the Surgical Block. Provide high-quality care to surgical patients, promoting safe surgical practice in accordance with guidelines established by the Surgical Block (BLC). Participate in the Institution’s fire brigade, attending scheduled trainings, meetings, and drills, acting preventively and, if necessary, guiding others on evacuation procedures and emergency exits; adhere strictly to the professional Code of Ethics and applicable legislation; maintain ethical conduct, acting respectfully and lawfully; treat everyone courteously, demonstrating enthusiasm and planning skills; promptly inform your immediate supervisor of any absence, tardiness, or request for pre-approved leave/early departure; actively participate in actions, trainings, and meetings conducted under the supervision and coordination of the Nursing Department; follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Protocols (POP) established for the department when performing tasks; use the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) mandated for the department; verify scheduled surgeries for the operating room according to monthly/daily scheduling; supply surgical materials required for procedures, if assigned to work in the central supply area (arsenal); set up operating rooms, arranging materials and medications according to the planned surgical procedure and medical team requests; perform daily equipment, anesthesia supplies, temperature, and humidity checklists for operating rooms; transport patients between clinical units and the inpatient department during pre- and post-operative phases; instruct external patients regarding changing into surgical gowns and storing personal belongings, and record this information on the designated form; verify whether external patients have brought all required examinations for their scheduled procedure; confirm that the admission form is correctly completed and that the patient is properly identified with an identification wristband; verify whether the Informed Consent Form for the Procedure, the General Consent Form, and the COVID-19 Consent Form have been signed; implement the Safe Surgery Protocol for all patients undergoing surgical procedures; report adverse events to Nursing Supervision; receive patients in the operating room and execute sector-established processes and protocols (e.g., establishing large-bore intravenous access, performing surgical site hair removal, monitoring the patient, and assisting the anesthesia and surgical teams with other required procedures); provide humane and safe patient care throughout the entire anesthesia and surgical process, following medical team instructions; perform double-checks with Nursing Supervision and document in the logbook all specimens sent to the Pathology Laboratory and all fluids/samples sent to the Clinical Laboratory; perform double-checks and dispatch blood samples to the Transfusion Agency and the Clinical Laboratory; deliver specimens to the Pathology Laboratory daily at scheduled times; deliver fluid containers to the Clinical Laboratory for storage, ensuring proper documentation and labeling; transfer patients to the recovery room after completion of the surgical procedure, ensuring all documents are fully completed and stamped; dismantle the operating room, send contaminated materials to the decontamination area (expurgo), and document them using the standard form; maintain organization and cleanliness of operating rooms before, during, and after surgery; organize sterilized materials in the Surgical Block’s central supply area (arsenal), regularly checking expiration dates of all items; document the release of any material from the Surgical Block’s central supply area intended for use in other departments or by physicians at other institutions; maintain and organize departmental equipment, safeguarding institutional assets; keep the Surgical Block organized and report any need for building maintenance, equipment servicing, or replacement of damaged items; assess departmental risks daily and record any failures in risk management; report such failures to Nursing Supervision; notify the department nurse of any non-conformities; comply with institutional inter-departmental reassignment policies when required; participate in and suggest process improvements using quality tools (e.g., SOPs, protocols, process maps, etc.); complete nursing reports for each shift; relay the schedule of upcoming surgeries in the absence of Nursing Supervision; comply with the Nursing Code of Ethics, the Internal Nursing Regulations, Institutional Policies, and the Department’s Internal Regulations; observe safety regulations, environmental control standards, and other internal rules or applicable legislation relevant to job responsibilities; perform other duties similar to those described above, as determined by management. 2511290202181836414
