§ Operate shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and MIG/MAG welding equipment to perform spot welding (using welding) of metal parts, in accordance with instructions provided by the respective assembler; § Assemble and spot-weld jigs for the galvanizing department. § Inspect the visual characteristics of weld spots and eliminate any defects (spatter) identified after welding; § Join metal alloy components using welding processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and MIG/MAG; § Seal non-conforming holes in metal parts using the MIG/MAG process. § Assist assemblers/boilermakers in maintaining factory building structures where cutting and welding of metal components are required.
