Job Summary: Crane Operator responsible for operating cargo handling and lifting equipment, ensuring safety and optimal functionality. Key Highlights: 1. Working in compliance with safety, hygiene, and quality standards. **Description:** Operate crane-type cargo handling and/or lifting equipment to perform loading and unloading operations or yard-based tasks in response to specific or scheduled work requests. Operate lifting machinery and equipment by adjusting controls and activating machine movements. Assess machine and equipment operational conditions by interpreting instrument panels, verifying power supply sources, and testing activation controls. Prepare work areas for equipment operation and transport personnel and materials using lifting machinery and equipment. Work in compliance with safety, hygiene, quality, and environmental protection standards. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure the equipment remains in good condition regarding maintenance and proper use. Develop a checklist to identify any damage to the equipment and report it to the supervisor. Verify that the equipment is properly isolated within its operational radius to prevent collisions with other equipment. Check the equipment's fuel or power supply requirements and inform the supervisor. Confirm the lifting capacity of each piece of equipment and strictly adhere to load-specific operational procedures. Lift cargo from ships using cranes and position them appropriately in the yard or on the ship for storage and subsequent loading or unloading. Occasionally remove cargo from the yard destined for the ship’s deck, using cranes to place cargo onto trailers for transport to the ship’s side and subsequent reloading. Execute material transportation routines required for warehouse operations using cranes, aiming to optimize process time. Maintain physical cargo storage areas in an organized manner by allocating space in the yard and performing appropriate storage. Position materials correctly using crane operations, removing scattered cargo to facilitate vehicle and equipment traffic. Perform other related tasks as assigned by immediate supervisors. Participate daily in DDS (Daily Safety Dialogues). Correctly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). It is the operator’s responsibility to maintain equipment in functional condition, including performing supplementary maintenance tasks, inspections, and reporting observed defects or failures for correction.
