**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**1\) Fabrication, Recovery, and Adjustments**
* Conduct machining of parts, tools, and fixtures on **lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, planer, bench drill**, saws, and hand tools.
* **Fabricate and adjust templates, shims, cradles, supports, extractors, alignment and assembly fixtures** for equipment such as drill rigs, crushers, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, screens, and transporters.
* Perform simple **heat treatments** (tempering/normalizing) when applicable.
**2\) Maintenance of Tools and Workshop Equipment**
* Maintain and calibrate **torque tools** (manual, hydraulic, pneumatic), **measuring instruments** (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges, hardness testers), **grinders and balancers**.
* Perform **corrective and preventive maintenance** on tooling and workshop machines.
* Ensure **traceability of calibration** and condition status of critical tools.
**3\) Support to Plant Maintenance**
* **Support maintenance teams** (mechanical, electrical, and PCM) in preparing intervention kits (specialized tooling, custom fixtures, and bespoke devices).
* **Repair threads, keys, seats, grooves**, and mating surfaces, ensuring assembly tolerances.
* Participate in **planned shutdowns**, fabricating/adjusting fixtures to reduce setup time and enhance safety.
* Conduct **root cause analysis (RCA)** of tooling and wear components, proposing material, treatment, and design improvements.
**4\) Inventory Management and Standardization**
* Manage **tooling and workshop consumables inventory** (steels, inserts, abrasives, welding alloys, gases, coolants).
* Standardize and **code tools and fixtures**; maintain updated **technical lists, drawings, and revisions**.
* Suggest **technical alternatives** offering higher durability/cost-effectiveness and approve suppliers/consumables.
**5\) Safety, Quality, and Compliance**
* Strictly comply with **SSMA regulations and procedures** (e.g., **NR-12** – machinery and equipment; **NR-18** – construction/temporary installations where applicable; **NR-33** – confined spaces; **NR-35** – work at height; **NR-10** – when performing interventions on electric tools), plus **Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)**.
* Apply **5S, organization, and cleanliness** in the workshop.
* Follow **technical specifications, tolerances, and inspection criteria** (metrology), ensuring dimensional and functional quality.
**Job Requirements**
**Certifications**
* **NR-12** (mandatory for operating machinery and equipment).
* **NR-35** and **NR-33** (as required by the work environment).
* Basic **NR-10** (desirable, for safety with electric tools).
* **Torque wrench calibration** and **metrology** (desirable).
* Training in **LOTO** and corporate **SSMA**.
* **Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings** (dimensioning and tolerances – ISO/ASME).
* **Machining** (lathe, milling, grinding) and **metrology** (geometric tolerances).
* **Welding** (MIG/MAG, TIG) and simple **structural repairs**.
* **Torque calibration and control**.
* Knowledge of **materials and heat treatments** (hardness, toughness, wear resistance).
* Basic knowledge of **lubrication and assembly** (fits, preload, adjustments).
**Behavioral Competencies**
* **Diagnostic ability** and **problem-solving skills**.
* **Precision, discipline, and safety focus**.
* **Organization** and priority management (working under pressure during shutdowns).
