Located in the West Morava river valley, the Pojate to Preljina Motorway is considered essential to building the economic corridor to the industrial city of Kruševac, connecting it with important regional commercial centers like Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the port city of Bar, Montenegro. This route alignment is part of the comprehensive road network envisaged by the South\\-East European Transport Organization (SEETO) as part of Route 5 between Bulgaria and the Adriatic coast.
