Leads work teams and oversees the complete repair cycle Role Summary: The Field Service Technician installs, commissions, monitors, diagnoses, and repairs Flowserve pumps, mechanical seals, and other equipment across various industries—including oil and gas, petrochemical, steel, mining, water treatment, etc.—depending on our customers' operational areas. In this role, the Field Service Technician (FST) provides real-time technical support at customer plants and delivers recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacements of parts and equipment. The FST is actively engaged in resolving problems and implementing solutions at customer facilities. Responsibilities: Perform direct, on-site service responses to customer requests; Assess mechanical issues and take prompt action to resolve them; Work side-by-side with customer personnel and lead work teams as required; Oversee the full repair cycle: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and reassembly; Ensure equipment is successfully installed and completed on schedule; Inspect equipment prior to commissioning and start-up, and evaluate performance during and after equipment start-up; Monitor maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment; Guide customers on proper procedures for operating and maintaining Flowserve products; Collaborate effectively with Flowserve support organizations—including repair centers, customer service, and sales engineering; Maintain and submit organized, accurate records—including daily reports, quoted work, completed work, and time-and-materials billing; Other duties as assigned; Requirements: Mechanical Technician with active CFT certification; Experience as a Field Service Technician in refinery industry; Knowledge of industrial applications and operations of pumps, valves, seals, actuators, and mechanical equipment; Experience installing mechanical equipment; Experience repairing pump equipment, installing mechanical seals, replacing seal faces, gaskets, rings, etc.; Knowledge of mechanical fit tolerances—clearance and interference fits; Knowledge of metrology and use of measuring instruments such as calipers, external and internal micrometers, tubular micrometers, dial indicators, and lever-type dial test indicators; Proven ability to read and correctly interpret mechanical technical drawings, sectional drawings, and dimensional drawings of equipment; Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel; Intermediate English proficiency; Valid driver's license with a strong driving record is essential for this role; Willingness and ability to travel and deploy—including globally—for extended periods; Willingness to work overtime as needed to minimize impact on customers; Proven ability to read and correctly interpret mechanical technical drawings, sectional drawings, and dimensional drawings of equipment; Preferred Experience/Skills: Advanced English and/or intermediate Spanish preferred; Professional certifications in this field; Flowserve is the global leader in manufacturing and providing comprehensive post-sales flow control systems and services.
