Here, every job is multidisciplinary and each challenge is unique! **We are looking for a Vessel Operations Engineer to ensure the availability, reliability, and compliance of vessels under their management, orchestrating people, suppliers, and processes to plan, execute, and continuously improve Asset maintenance and performance. Manage modifications of critical components/assets in pursuit of continuous process improvement. Always striving for safety, cost\-effectiveness, and zero recurrence, aligning CAPEX/OPEX, operational timelines, and regulatory requirements (ANP, IBAMA, NR/ABNT, Class), thus supporting the company's strategy and delivery of subsea projects with cost performance and Utilization Rate.** \#LI\-DS1 \#LI\-ONSITE **Responsibilities and duties** * **Participate in technical discussions with the vessel manager to assist in maintenance decision-making, especially those involving repair and return;** * **Work together with the vessel manager to manage unit operations focusing on safety and operational availability (uptime) of the asset through structured planning;** * **Lead high financial impact projects and maintenance (CAPEX/OPEX), ensuring compliance with predefined scope, deadlines, and quality;** * **Act as interface with the Subsea team to convert the vessel into the operational mode required by the project whenever requested by the client, ensuring safe and effective technical integrations;** * **Ensure with the vessel manager that the 5-year financial plan remains always up to date (CAPEX and OPEX) under diligent cost and scope management, guaranteeing long-term asset viability visibility;** * **Perform monthly unit cost management with trend visibility (OPEX /CAPEX);** * **Monitor third-party services ensuring efficiency and necessary cost reductions for vessel operations, as well as approve Measurement Reports related to onboard services, based on technical evaluation of services delivered on the asset;** * **Follow up on audits, monitor and ensure execution of action plans for non-conformities regulated by government agencies (ANP, Ibama, Anvisa, etc.), particularly within SGSO, SGSS, Fiscal Measurement, CONAMA 393, Port State, classification bodies and Regulatory Standards;** * **Conduct and guide records of operational changes and adjustments, acting as facilitator of the Management of Change (MoC) process;** * **Identify improvements and review asset operational procedures;** * **Evaluate and approve purchase requisitions and orders, and interact with Supply regarding supplier contracting and decision-making for services, equipment, and materials;** * **Manage asset performance indicators (availability, reliability, costs, schedule), promoting corrective actions when necessary;** * **Conduct periodic meetings with involved parties (support teams) to align planning and monitor progress and contracted services;** * **Ensure proper management of the maintenance cycle in the asset’s ERP (plans, job cards, backlog, critical spares), guaranteeing on\-time execution and historical updates;** * **Lead failure investigations (FRE/RCA), eliminate recurrences, and feed back maintenance plans and procedures;** * **Define technically “purchasable” criteria (specifications, HF codes, material lists) and manage obsolescence and interchangeability risks;** * **Plan port calls and manage resources required for vessel routine in coordination with the client;** * **Manage contracts and performance of strategic suppliers (SLAs/KTIs), conducting technical expeditions, audits, and applying lessons learned;** * **Develop and monitor KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, OTIF of maintenance, acquisition lead time, crane/systems availability), with dashboards and operational performance, safety and maintenance routines;** * **Conduct executive communication (status, risks, go/no\-go decisions), escalate blockers and align priorities with Operations/Subsea/Finance;** * **Ensure the vessel manager trains all crew and support teams on technical training, critical procedures, and lessons learned;** * **Ensure the vessel manager plans critical spare parts inventory (minimum levels, coverage, ABC analysis), eliminating downtime due to lack of materials;** * **Respond to critical events (severe failures, incidents), coordinate contingencies and restore operations safely and swiftly;** * **Ensure compliance with internal policies (approvals, compliance, integrity, ESG) and participate in maintenance and project governance forums.** **Requirements and qualifications** Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chief Engineer certification; * Proven experience managing medium-sized vessels such as PLSV and MPSV; * Experience in maintenance management with focus on reliability, cost management, and KPI generation; * Experience in managing offshore cranes with heave compensation systems; * Experience in failure analysis based on agile methodologies and continuous improvement tools. **Additional information** **What is the selection process like at PRIO?** We like to get to know you a bit before the interview, so we ask you to complete some tests during the registration stage so we can assess your Match with our Culture :) Next, our HR team will schedule a chat with you.
