Job Summary:
An Occupational Safety Engineer to plan, implement, and monitor OHS policies, with a focus on heavy construction projects and ensuring employee physical integrity.

**Job Objective**
Plan, implement, and monitor **Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)** policies and programs to ensure employees' physical integrity, compliance with applicable legislation, and accident prevention; supervise and implement contractual safety conditions for **high-risk heavy construction activities**.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Develop, implement, and monitor **occupational safety programs**, in accordance with applicable legislation and Client procedures;
* Ensure compliance with **Regulatory Standards (NRs)** and the Client’s Occupational Health and Safety programs applicable to heavy construction activities;
* Develop and implement **operational safety procedures** for critical activities;
* Conduct **risk analyses (JSA / HAZID / HAZOP)** for port construction contract activities;
* Monitor programs such as:
* **PGR – Risk Management Program;**
* **PCMSO** (in coordination with occupational medicine);
* **LTCAT;**
* **Employee Training Plan;**
* Coordinate investigations of **accidents and incidents**, proposing corrective and preventive actions;
* Ensure compliance with safety standards for:
* work at height;
* confined space entry;
* welding and cutting;
* load handling;
* operation of heavy equipment;
* Coordinate safety inspections at worksites;
* Implement **safety culture and safe behavior programs;**
* Deliver or coordinate **mandatory safety training;**
* Support internal and external safety audits;
* Develop **safety performance indicators (KPIs);**
* Manage a team of **occupational safety technicians;**
* Interface with **clients, regulatory authorities, and auditors**.
**Education Requirements**
**Mandatory Education**
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
* Specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering;
* Active registration with **CREA**.
**Professional Experience**
* Desired experience in **large-scale construction, port construction, or heavy industry**.
* Experience in environments such as:
* infrastructure construction;
* heavy construction;
* Projects within Vale’s facilities and Porto Sudeste.
**Technical Knowledge**
Safety legislation and regulations:
* NR 01 – Risk Management;
* NR 06 – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
* NR 10 – Electrical Installation Safety;
* NR\-11 – Transport, Handling, Storage, and Material Handling;
* NR 12 – Machinery and Equipment;
* NR 18 – Construction Industry;
* NR\-34 – Naval Construction and Repair.
Minimum Education Level: Postgraduate Degree – Specialization/MBA
