**Job Description**
The Maintenance Director will serve as the hotel’s lead engineer, leading the maintenance team and external service providers from pre\-opening onward. This hands\-on role ensures efficient departmental operations while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and excellence.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Manage and lead the Maintenance team, coordinating daily tasks for technicians, analysts, coordinators, and external service providers;
* Actively participate in the hotel’s pre\-opening phase, ensuring all systems, operations, and quality standards are ready for inauguration;
* Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and civil structural systems;
* Ensure operational safety, business continuity, and regulatory compliance for the hotel;
* Coordinate construction projects and renovations with the Projects team, guaranteeing delivery within schedule, budget, and quality standards;
* Implement and manage quality systems, maintenance request systems (work orders), and purchase order controls across all hotel departments;
* Record and analyze utility and system consumption data across the hotel, reporting results;
* Support Occupational Health and Safety and Sustainability standards by inspecting areas and taking corrective actions with the team when necessary;
* Actively contribute to minimizing the hotel’s environmental impact by implementing sustainable initiatives that promote water and energy conservation, while simultaneously ensuring service excellence and guest comfort;
* Proactively propose solutions and investments required to reduce the hotel’s water consumption and waste generation.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mandatory);
* Postgraduate degree in Maintenance Engineering, Facilities Management, or Operations/Project Management;
* Solid experience as Maintenance/Engineering Manager or Director, preferably in luxury hospitality or hospitals;
* Experience in pre\-opening of high\-end hotels or resorts is highly desirable;
* Strong knowledge of building maintenance, systems, construction project management, and vendor management;
* Experience with maintenance management systems and software;
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills;
* Fluent English; French is a plus;
* Accountability, reliability, and sense of urgency.
