Reports to the Senior Manager, Financial and Budget Management. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Build project budget structures in CI’s internal tool by analyzing and translating project deliverables and cost structure into budget categories by expense type, completing the Budget Template and Planner tools to ensure alignment with organizational and donor budgetary guidelines and structure. * Timely update project budgets under their management, supporting project managers in budget review and future planning through report issuance, guidance on organizational cost and budget structure, and completion of the Planner tool to ensure annual budget implementation aligns with global budget and finance procedures and guidelines. * Verify project expense entries by analyzing expense nature against cost structure and expense-type codes, operating internal budget and financial data systems, guiding project managers, coordinators, and assistants on expense allocation and reclassification (when necessary) to ensure correct classification of expenses under CI-Brazil’s budget codes and donor guidelines. * Coordinate expense reclassifications in partnership with Accounting, when required to reorganize entries across different accounting accounts, across projects, or across different activity codes within the same project. * Generate financial reports on expenses, time allocation, and project execution using the organization’s budget and finance systems, formatting reports in Excel and BI according to each report’s update and issuance deadlines, thereby making project financial execution indicators available to Strategy Managers and Program Directors. * Monitor and support the delivery of donor-specific reports, including defining and organizing work plans for such situations and preparing justifications (when necessary). * Conduct grant verification and financial accountability by checking receipts and payment statements, completing financial reporting, to ensure consistency in grant financial execution and enable continuation of subsequent disbursements. * Participate in procurement negotiation meetings and monitor project procurement plans, partnering with the Procurement and Contracts team, contributing expertise on expense-type structures and serving as a liaison and bridge between procurement and finance for major deliverables, to ensure alignment of payments, invoice issuance, and expense allocation. * Support the project closure cycle by validating all expense allocations, reviewing financial documentation, entering information into budget and finance systems to ensure project financial records are updated and consolidated, and submitting all required financial documentation for formal project closure. * Support the Finance Manager in ad hoc activities such as developing new proposals, expenditure analysis, project asset control, and preparing reports as needed. * Performs other related duties as assigned. **Requirements:** ----------------- **EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE** * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related fields, or proven professional experience in the activities described above. * Experience in controllership for Third Sector organizations. * Experience in budget planning, expense verification, financial accountability, and related financial activities. * Experience in planning and organizing financial data and documents, including dashboard development and updates, analytical capability, and problem identification and resolution through coordination and communication with partner areas. * Advanced proficiency in Excel tools * Basic accounting knowledge * Intermediate or advanced English proficiency (speaking, writing, reading) * Ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing priorities and deadlines. **WORK MODEL** * Fixed-term contract (6 months, renewable for an additional 6 months) * CLT employment regime * Remote work * Primarily administrative tasks * Occasional in-person participation for meetings, field visits, and other activities, including travel to remote regions across Brazil.
