




Job Summary: The Junior Instructor for Driver Training and Qualification supports and carries out activities related to the training, integration, instruction, and evaluation of drivers for public transportation. Key Highlights: 1. Supports and delivers theoretical and operational driver training. 2. Leads and/or supports practical driving lessons on buses. 3. Contributes to the development and updating of teaching materials. The Junior Instructor for Driver Training and Qualification is responsible for supporting and carrying out training, integration, instruction, and evaluation activities for candidates and newly hired drivers operating under Rápido Araguaia (urban public transportation) and Viação Araguarina (semi\-urban transportation). Works collaboratively with Training/Operations leadership and more experienced instructors to ensure professionals develop technical, behavioral, and safety competencies required for operating heavy passenger vehicles, in compliance with traffic legislation, internal standards, and quality benchmarks of the Odilon Santos Group. **Main Responsibilities** * Support and deliver theoretical and operational training (with supervision when necessary), including: * + Traffic legislation applicable to public transportation, + Defensive driving, + Operational safety and incident prevention, + Internal procedures and passenger service standards. * Conduct and/or support practical driving lessons on urban and semi\-urban buses, adhering to safety criteria and predefined routes. * Perform and document technical evaluations of candidates and trainees, including Steering Wheel Test where applicable: * + Driving posture, decision-making ability, safe driving practices, adherence to rules, behavioral profile. * Support the technical onboarding of newly hired drivers: * + Operational routines, proper use of vehicle resources, professional communication and conduct. * Provide guidance on economical driving and vehicle preservation (best practices to reduce fuel consumption, wear and tear, and incidents). * Accompany drivers during assisted operations (real routes) throughout their adaptation period, jointly with management. * Identify needs for refresher training and supplementary courses for active drivers. * Support the organization and logistics of training sessions: * + Scheduling, classrooms, equipment, checklists, training materials, and attendance tracking. * Maintain up-to-date records of attendance, evaluations, and performance in systems/spreadsheets, and prepare reports with recommendations (qualified/unqualified, areas for improvement, need for reinforcement). * Contribute to the development and updating of teaching materials (presentations, lesson plans, exercises, checklists, and evaluation forms). * Ensure compliance with safety regulations during practical training sessions and proper use of training vehicles (assist in verifying vehicle usability conditions and reporting maintenance needs). * Participate in selection processes as technical evaluator support, when requested. **Requirements** * Driver’s license category D or E (as per internal policy for operating vehicles). * EAR (Exercises Remunerated Activity) and valid toxicological test. * Professional driving experience (preferably in urban/semi\-urban public transportation or heavy vehicles). * Practical knowledge of defensive driving, safety, professional conduct, and operational routines. * Strong communication skills, teaching aptitude, ethical conduct, and ability to clearly guide and correct. * Organizational skills for attendance tracking, recordkeeping, and reporting. * Availability to work at depots/garages, training rooms, and operational sites, as needed. **Preferred Qualifications** * Prior experience as an instructor, monitor, trainer, or technical reference (even informal). * Experience conducting practical evaluations (Steering Wheel Test) and integration training. * Familiarity with training indicators (attendance, evaluation, post\-training performance). * Knowledge of simple adult learning methodologies (practical training, checklists, simulations, structured feedback).
