Coordination with commercial, production, and procurement departments An Inventory Manager's responsibilities include planning and organizing product storage, supervising goods receipt and verification, controlling inbound and outbound movements, managing inventories, and leading the inventory team. They are also responsible for optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs and losses, and collaborating with other departments—such as commercial and production—to ensure smooth material flow. Key Responsibilities * **Planning and organization:** Sets objectives, plans goals, delegates tasks to the team, and oversees the physical layout of the storage area. * **Inventory control:** Supervises inbound and outbound movements, performs system entries, and ensures daily or periodic inventory control. * **Team management:** Leads, coordinates, and supervises the activities of the inventory team. * **Receiving and verification:** Verifies received goods, ensures compliance with invoices, and confirms proper labeling and storage. * **Optimization and analysis:** Analyzes and controls waste and damages, evaluates inventory performance, and proposes improvements to optimize processes and reduce costs. * **Interdepartmental coordination:** Serves as the liaison between commercial, production, and procurement departments to align requirements and material flow. * **Technology and reporting:** Uses management systems (e.g., ERPs) to maintain accurate records and generate inventory-related reports and analyses.
