We are looking for a Director of Direct Procurement with solid experience in the fertilizer segment to strategically lead this area and contribute to our business objectives. Your mission will be to define and execute the direct procurement strategy for fertilizers, ensuring supply continuity, cost competitiveness, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance in predominantly international sourcing operations. Responsibilities: **Strategy and Governance** * Define the direct procurement strategy aligned with the company’s trading, logistics, and financial plans * Establish international sourcing policies, including origination, negotiation, hedging, and short- and long-term contracts * Decide on make-or-buy options, supplier diversification, and exposure by country or region * Collaborate closely with the Commercial team to identify market trends and opportunities, supporting positioning decisions in domestic and international markets **International Sourcing** * Lead fertilizer negotiations with suppliers across multiple countries * Develop and maintain relationships with producers, global traders, brokers, and logistics partners * Continuously assess geopolitical, foreign exchange, logistics, and credit risks associated with suppliers **Contracts and Negotiation** * Conduct complex commercial negotiations involving price, volume, indices, freight, Incoterms, and force majeure clauses * Ensure contractual standardization and governance of approval processes * Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to mitigate contractual risks **Cost Management and Profitability** * Ensure acquisition cost competitiveness against international benchmarks * Work with pricing structures linked to global indices, such as commodities and maritime freight * Support decisions related to foreign exchange and price hedging, without necessarily executing financial instruments, where applicable **Integration with Logistics and Commercial** * Coordinate with International Logistics on shipment planning, lead times, and freight optimization * Align with Sales on product availability, mix, and timing * Address operational bottlenecks that may impact supply continuity or the company’s contribution margin Requirements: **Technical Requirements** Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or related fields Solid experience in international direct procurement, fertilizer trading, and agribusiness Knowledge of the international fertilizer market, agricultural raw materials, or similar commodities Proficiency in Incoterms, maritime logistics, and international freight Experience with indexed pricing models and risk management Fluent English; Spanish is desirable **Behavioral Competencies** Strong negotiation and strategic decision-making skills Analytical risk perspective and commercial discipline Ability to operate effectively in complex, dynamic, and high-pressure environments Practical leadership focused on results and performance Strategic, resilient profile oriented toward value creation for the business Benefits * Comprehensive medical assistance at no cost for employee and dependents; * Comprehensive dental assistance at no cost for employee and dependents; * Company vehicle; * Fuel and toll allowance; * Parking; * Meal and food allowances; * Pharmacy card; * Group life insurance provided by the company; * Profit-sharing program (PLR) and bonus; * Partnership with SESI; * Total Pass; * Development programs.
