Vehicle damage assessment and diagnosis Restore vehicle bodywork and metal components damaged by dents, collisions, and other accidents, using tools and techniques to remove dents, align, shape, and, if necessary, replace damaged parts. The work includes disassembly and reassembly of the bodywork as well as final part preparation. The main responsibilities of a body repair technician include: * **Damage repair:** Restore the body structure and surface, correcting dents, scratches, deformations, and misalignments. * **Metal sheet handling:** Cut, shape, sand, and work metal sheets for repairs, such as the "mini-hammer" technique for dent removal without repainting. * **Disassembly and reassembly:** Remove and reinstall body components, such as doors, hoods, and bumpers. * **Welding and finishing:** Use welding to join parts, and apply fillers and other materials to finish and prepare surfaces for painting. * **Assessment and diagnosis:** Analyze vehicle damage, identify required work, and follow technical specifications and drawings.
