Service Technician SR - Blades
The Services Department is responsible for ensuring the operation of our customers' wind farms, guaranteeing optimal performance of each turbine throughout its lifetime. The function is to ensure that turbines operate at maximum capacity, providing the best energy production for our customers. As a key team in maintaining long-term customer loyalty.
Part of the Services Department, the Special Projects team provides solutions for situations we may not have encountered before, of large scale and complexity, high risk and high business impact. It is the team that faces the unknown by bringing structure and solutions to the situations we face. Our department confidently takes on projects of varying complexity, risk, and cost.
**Responsibilities:**
* As a Senior Blade Technician, you will support the blade maintenance process, including preventive and corrective activities, blade inspections, within corporate guidelines, quality certifications, and legal regulations, aiming to reduce service costs and ensure agreed service levels;
* Monitor blade maintenance-related activities to ensure service level agreements and minimize service costs;
* Inspect and evaluate the operational condition of blades, record results in maintenance information systems to ensure data reliability and compliance with reporting procedures;
* Repair blades according to VESTAS-defined repair criteria and procedures;
* Operate in accordance with safety standards and quality procedures related to blade maintenance activities, from awareness through audit processes, to ensure service level agreements and compliance with regulatory procedures;
* Efficiently respond to and supervise resolution of issues raised by the service operations team.
**Qualifications:**
* Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or composite engineering;
* Bachelor's degree will be highly valued;
* Experience in the wind energy industry or with blades and related processes as primary work area;
* Solid knowledge of composites (matrix and reinforcement evaluation), repair processes, material quantification and specification;
* Significant experience in wind blade inspection and repair;
* Experience in blade damage assessment will be highly valued;
* Experience in managing and working with subcontractors and suppliers will be highly valued;
* Knowledge of service operations and a good understanding of the commercial value chain of the service business, where balancing product quality, lifespan, and customer needs is always critical, will be highly valued;
* IRATA Level 3 course and certification with proof of experience;
* Knowledge of V82, V90, V100, V110, V136, and V150 blades.
**Competencies:**
* Leadership profile, dynamic and proactive;
* Ability to manage data and use tools such as MS Project, Excel, Word; valid and active CREA or CFT registration;
* IRATA registration;
* Valid driver's license;
* This role requires frequent travel between states in Brazil.
