Occupational Safety Technician
Job Summary:
The professional will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and controlling occupational hazards, as well as developing and implementing OSH programs and managing electrical risk.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
* Identify, assess, and control occupational hazards in workplaces;
* Develop, implement, and monitor OSH programs (PPRA/PGR, PCMSO – jointly with SESMT);
* Conduct safety inspections, internal audits, and risk analyses;
* Investigate workplace accidents and incidents, preparing reports and action plans;
* Advise staff on the correct use of PPE and collective protective equipment (CPE);
* Deliver OSH training and awareness campaigns;
* Monitor field activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards;
* Manage legal documentation and occupational safety records;
* Support CIPA by participating in meetings and preventive actions;
* Collaborate with managers to continuously improve working conditions;
* Respond to inspections and audits as required.
**Requirements and Qualifications** **Education:**
Technical qualification in Occupational Safety;
Desirable: Education in Electrotechnology or Civil Firefighter certification.
**Requirements:**
* Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency;
* Experience in the energy sector;
* Valid Brazilian driver’s license (Category B).
### **Advanced Technical Proficiency in Electrical Regulatory Standards (NR)**
Mandatory applied knowledge of:
* **NR-10** (basic and complementary – SEP)
* **NR-35** (work at height on power lines and poles)
* **NR-33** (underground chambers, vaults, trenches)
* **NR-01 / GRO / PGR** (integrated electrical risk management)
* **NR-06** (electricity-specific PPE: insulating gear, flame-resistant clothing, CPE)
### **Field Electrical Risk Management**
Ability to:
* Identify hazards in energized and de-energized networks
* Assess proximity to live parts
* Define safe distances
* Evaluate risks of electric arc, shock, burns, and falls
* Analyze risks associated with HV, MV, and LV work
Expected tools:
* Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) specific to electrical work
* Work Permit (WP)
* Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
* Safe Operating Procedures (SOP)
### **Investigation of Electrical Accidents**
Critical skill to:
* Analyze accidents involving electric shock, electric arc, and falls from height
* Identify technical, procedural, and organizational failures
* Produce robust technical reports (legally defensible)
* Propose structural corrective actions (not just “retraining”)
### **Occupational Hygiene Applied to the Electrical Sector**
Assessment of:
* Excessive heat (open-field environments)
* Solar radiation
* Noise (equipment and substations)
* Vibration
* Chemical agents (oils, solvents, fuels)
### **Ergonomics in Electrical Activities (NR-17)**
Ability to:
* Assess posture on ladders, poles, and aerial lifts
* Analyze physical workload and fatigue
* Evaluate impact of long shifts and high-pressure work
* Propose operational improvements (not merely theoretical)
### **OSH Management Systems in Electrical Contracts**
Experience with:
* ISO 45001
* OSH indicators in contracts with utility providers
* Compliance with client requirements (e.g., Equatorial audits)
* Robust document management (procedures, evidence, records)
### **Mandatory Technical Training**
Ability to:
* Deliver or validate training on:
* NR-10 (basic and SEP)
* NR-35
* Work on energized networks
* Correct use of PPE/CPE
* Assess real-world effectiveness of training in the field
### **Electrical Emergency Management**
Involvement in:
* Emergency response plans for electrical accidents
* First aid for electric shock
* Coordination with Fire Department, utility provider, and SESMT
* Analysis of critical scenarios (storms, power line failures, emergencies)
### **Technical Interface with Utility Providers**
Strategic ability to:
* Comply with utility provider technical requirements
* Participate in external audits
* Technically represent the company
* Translate customer requirements into operational practice
