




Job Summary: Technical operator responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving packaging equipment and palletizing cells, ensuring safety and quality, while leading continuous improvement. Key Highlights: 1. Operation and maintenance of packaging and palletizing equipment. 2. Responsible for achieving operational targets and continuous improvement. 3. Situational leadership of the process with the line team. I – RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate and maintain packaging equipment and palletizing cells by activating controls, managing material quantities and flows, performing cleaning, product and format changeovers, applying process control tools, and completing documents/dossiers in accordance with production orders—always prioritizing product safety and quality. Responsible for operation, autonomous maintenance, repairs, and equipment improvement according to acquired training, as well as delivery of operational targets (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Productivity, Costs, Service Level, Morale, Innovation, and Sustainability). Supported by skills developed to work within an autonomous team, the Technical Operator must adhere to established standards for production delivery and drive continuous improvement in compliance with Unilever’s legal requirements. Analyze and resolve problems, and share knowledge across the team. II \- DESCRIPTION OF KEY ACTIVITIES: * Technical – Know and apply technical skills to operate, maintain, repair, and improve equipment; * Understand mechanical principles and motion mechanisms, and be capable of conducting product/format changeovers, repairs, and various adjustments (e.g., cams, clutches, bearings, belts, and pulleys). Ensure proper equipment lubrication according to established autonomous maintenance regimes (Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, and Retightening); * Understand the operating principles of each equipment and subassembly, enabling fault identification and execution of repairs and adjustments. * Monitor and assess the basic condition of equipment and components using diagnostic techniques; * Monitor quality against standards to prevent non-conformities in product or packaging. Rapidly detect quality issues and take emergency actions to prevent recurrence; * Use performance data to identify where production area losses occur; * Possess the ability to identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques to eliminate recurrences; * Exercise situational leadership of the process with the line team; * Keep equipment running and escalate to relevant teams for corrective actions in case of breakdowns or mechanical failures; * Knowledge and understanding of key UMS principles and their impact on production area key performance indicators; * Responsible for organizing meal schedules and shift rotations for the line team. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** * Technical education in fields related to production; * Professional experience in industry, particularly in Safety and Quality processes and procedures; Desirable: * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; * Professional experience working in teams; * Experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry; * Experience with continuous improvement methods and methodologies.
