Participation in team training and activities **Description:** Surgical Nursing Technician \- SURGICAL BLOCK \- Concordia Unit **Salary:** R$ 1\.653,96\+ benefits **Schedule:** 07:00 to 13:00, Monday to Saturday **Requirements:** Completed High School education and Technical Nursing Course / Experience as a Surgical Nursing Technician **Desirable (an advantage for the candidate, not mandatory for hiring):** Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, knowledge of Portuguese language, handling of urgent and emergency situations, venous access puncture, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and dressing of surgical wounds. Provide high-quality care to surgical patients, promoting safe surgery practices through the guidelines established by the Surgical Block Committee (BLC). Participate in the Institution’s Fire Brigade, attending scheduled trainings, meetings, and drills; act preventively and, if necessary, guide others regarding evacuation procedures and emergency exits. Adhere strictly to the professional Code of Ethics and applicable legislation; uphold ethical conduct, respect, and legality in all actions; treat everyone courteously, with enthusiasm and planning; promptly inform your immediate supervisor of any absence, tardiness, or request permission for scheduled absences/early departures; actively participate in activities, trainings, and meetings coordinated by Nursing Supervision and Coordination; follow sector-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Process Reference Standards (PRS); use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated by the sector; verify scheduled surgeries for the operating room according to monthly/daily planning; supply required surgical materials for procedures when assigned to work in the central supply area (arsenal); prepare operating rooms by arranging materials and medications according to the planned surgical procedure and medical team requests; perform daily equipment checklists, anesthesia material inventories, and temperature/humidity checks in operating rooms; transport patients between pre-operative/post-operative units and inpatient wards; instruct external patients on changing into surgical gowns and storing personal belongings, recording such in the designated form; confirm that external patients have brought all required examinations for their procedure; verify correctness of admission forms and proper patient identification via wristband; confirm completion of the Informed Consent Form for the Procedure, General Consent Form, and COVID-19 Consent Form; implement the Safe Surgery Protocol for all patients undergoing surgical procedures; report adverse events to Nursing Supervision; receive patients in the operating room and execute sector-established processes and protocols (e.g., large-bore venous access puncture, trichotomy at the surgical site, patient monitoring, assisting the anesthesia and surgical teams); provide humane and safe patient care throughout anesthesia and surgery, following medical team instructions; perform double-checks with Nursing Supervision and record all specimens sent to the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory and all fluids/samples sent to the Clinical Analysis Laboratory in the official logbook; perform double-checks and dispatch blood samples to the Transfusion Agency and the Clinical Analysis Laboratory; deliver specimens to the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory daily at scheduled times; send fluid containers to the Clinical Analysis Laboratory for storage, properly documented and labeled; transfer patients to the recovery room after completion of the surgical procedure, ensuring all documents are fully completed and stamped; dismantle the operating room, send contaminated materials to decontamination, and document them on the standard form; maintain organization and cleanliness in operating rooms before, during, and after surgery; organize sterilized materials in the BLC arsenal, regularly verifying expiration dates; document release of any material from the BLC arsenal intended for use in other departments or by physicians at other institutions; maintain and organize departmental equipment, safeguarding institutional assets; keep the BLC organized and report needs for building maintenance, equipment servicing, or replacement of damaged items; assess departmental risks daily and document failures in risk management; report such failures to Nursing Supervision; notify the department nurse of any non-conformities; comply with institutional inter-departmental reassignment policies when required; participate in and suggest process improvements using quality tools (e.g., SOPs, protocols, process maps); complete nursing reports per shift; relay information regarding scheduled surgeries in the absence of Nursing Supervision; comply with the Nursing Code of Ethics, Internal Nursing Regulations, Institutional Policies, and Departmental Internal Regulations; observe safety standards, environmental controls, and other internal rules or legislation relevant to job functions; perform other tasks similar to those described above at the manager’s discretion. 2511190202461821017
