Job Summary: Inhotim Institute seeks a Museologist to lead institutional museological planning, collection management policies, and technical procedures, ensuring the organization and dissemination of its artistic and museological collection. Regarded as Latin America's largest open-air museum, the Inhotim Institute — Botanical Garden and Museum of Contemporary Art — is seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of **Museologist**. Located in Brumadinho (MG) since 2006, Inhotim is a nonprofit organization funded by ticket sales, event revenues, and donations from individuals and legal entities — either directly or through Federal and State Cultural Incentive Laws. Its landscapes across 140 hectares of visitable area offer visitors a unique experience blending art and nature. Over 500 people collaborate daily to ensure this entire structure functions smoothly. Join our team too! **Responsibilities and Duties** Lead and develop processes involving museological planning, collection management policies, and institutional technical procedures at the Inhotim Institute, ensuring the organization, qualification, updating, and availability of collection-related information. Serve as a technical reference in documentation, cataloging, inventory, research, safeguarding, and dissemination of the artistic and museological collection under your responsibility, providing strategic support for conservation, exhibitions, artwork loans, technical reserves, and educational initiatives, while ensuring compliance with museological standards and integration among all areas involved in collection management. **Leadership in Institutional Planning and Policies** * Lead the development of museological planning, collection management policies, and institutional technical procedures, contributing to the creation of standards, manuals, and methodologies for preservation, research, and safeguarding; prepare technical reports and provide museological advisory services to other directorates. **Documentation and Collection Management** * Organize, catalog, inventory, and keep collection records and the management system (Tainacan) up to date, ensuring data integrity and traceability. * Support the Registration team in processes related to collection acquisition, registration, movement, loan, and deaccessioning, including collection dossiers. * Issue or support technical assessments and opinions regarding the condition, movement, and documentation of artworks. **Exhibitions and Artwork Logistics** * Contribute to the technical planning of exhibitions and supervise logistics for loans, transportation, insurance, and customs clearance. **Research, Dissemination, and Educational Initiatives** * Conduct research, develop projects and publications, manage access to collection information, and collaborate on dissemination activities and exchanges with other institutions. **Requirements and Qualifications*** Education: Bachelor’s degree in Museology or related fields, with postgraduate specialization in Museology and professional registration with COREM. * Experience: Minimum of 4 years preferred, including hands-on experience in museological planning and development of collection policies. * Technical Skills: Leadership in museological planning; collection organization and cataloging; knowledge of Art History and General History; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. * Behavioral Competencies: Leadership, agility, commitment, communication, discipline, interpersonal skills, and teamwork. **Preferred Qualifications** * Postgraduate degree in Museology, Heritage, Curatorship, or related fields; * Experience with artwork cataloging systems: Tainacan/Pergamum or others; * Intermediate/advanced English and/or Spanish; **Additional Information*** Employment Type: CLT (Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho); * Benefits: Health insurance, dental plan, chartered transportation, commuter allowance, on-site meals, Culture Voucher (Vale-Cultura), life insurance, WellHub; * Availability required on weekends and holidays. #### **Inhotim** Inhotim is a Museum of Contemporary Art and Botanical Garden located in Brumadinho (MG) since 2006\.
