✓ Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on matters related to speech-language pathology services, proposing and discussing solutions to problems or irregularities to support decision-making and continuous improvement of departmental processes; ✓ Support hospitalized patients’ care, contributing to clinical improvement, reducing risks of sequelae and readmissions—specifically regarding assessment and intervention for dysphagia, oral language, speech, and oral motor function; ✓ Apply speech-language pathology procedures: conduct and instruct exercises; request therapeutic materials; introduce alternative communication methods; apply specialized ICU rehabilitation knowledge; assess and rehabilitate facial mimicry; promote treatment adherence and continuity; advise on therapeutic strategies post-discharge; stimulate salivary and functional swallowing; recommend enteral tube removal in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; assist with tracheostomy tube exchange and weaning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; adapt speech valves; ✓ Conduct evaluation and therapeutic intervention for language disorders—including post-stroke aphasia—and voice and speech disorders; ✓ Counsel patients, caregivers, family members, and healthcare professionals on therapeutic approaches; ✓ Provide assistance, as needed, to patients under respiratory isolation (e.g., COVID-19, H3N2, H1N1); ✓ Prepare reports, clinical notes, expert opinions, and referrals; ✓ Assist in generating spreadsheets containing descriptive and quantitative data on patient interventions; ✓ Document all interventions in the patient’s electronic medical record; perform other related tasks of equivalent difficulty upon request by one’s immediate supervisor. **Requirements and Qualifications** 1—Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; 2—Specialization certificate in Hospital Speech-Language Pathology, Dysphagia, Oral Motor Function, Gerontology, Palliative Care, or Multidisciplinary Residency is desirable; 3—Minimum of six (6) months’ documented experience as a speech-language pathologist in hospitals is desirable. **Additional Information** Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM; Monthly salary for 150 hours/month (30 hours/week): R$ 3,638.90; It has 460 beds—including 80 ICU beds—and 16 operating rooms. HMDCC specializes in urgent and emergency clinical, surgical, and stroke care, with coordinated, regulated admissions managed by Belo Horizonte Municipal Health Secretariat’s Hospital Admission Center.
