So, here’s the opportunity we have for you: **\#VEMSERMERCANTIL** **Responsibilities and Duties** **Your main challenges will include:** * Executing the full lifecycle of data science projects, from problem definition through solution implementation. * Developing and implementing machine learning and statistical models for forecasting, segmentation, optimization, and other applications. * Analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. * Designing and building robust data pipelines for data collection, processing, and transformation. * Collaborating with HR and business teams to understand needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. * Presenting results and insights to stakeholders and leadership using clear data visualizations and narratives. * Mentoring junior and mid-level data scientists, sharing knowledge and promoting industry best practices. * Staying up to date with the latest innovations and methodologies in data science and machine learning. **Requirements and Qualifications** **We’re looking for someone with:** * A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields. * Proven solid experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role. * Experience leading end-to-end data science projects. * A portfolio of successful projects in predictive analytics, optimization, or machine learning. * Proficiency in Python and/or R. * Advanced knowledge of data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch). * Strong understanding of statistics, linear algebra, and calculus. * Experience with SQL and relational/non-relational databases. * Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). * Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. **You’ll stand out if you have:** * A master’s or doctoral degree. * An ongoing postgraduate program. * Knowledge of data engineering and tools such as Spark, Kafka, or Airflow. **Work Location:** Belo Horizonte/MG (Hybrid work model). **Additional Information** **What we offer our employees:** * Meal and food allowance (if preferred, both benefits can be consolidated onto a single food card); * Health insurance; * Dental insurance; * Childcare allowance; * Life insurance; * Private pension plan; * Wellhub; * Mercantil Academy for Development; * Profit Sharing Program (PLR); All positions are also open to people with disabilities (PCDs).
