Description
A professional with knowledge to perform general carpentry work in a workshop or on a construction site, cutting, assembling, installing, and repairing wooden components using hand and mechanical tools, to fabricate building assemblies or parts, similar constructions, or carry out maintenance thereof, as detailed below: examines the characteristics of the work by interpreting blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to determine the sequence of operations to be performed; selects timber and other required materials, choosing the most suitable ones to ensure work quality; marks out the timber, indicating the outline of the piece according to the drawing or model to enable cutting; fabricates parts of the piece by sawing, planing, smoothing, drilling, and performing other operations using hand or mechanical tools such as planes, saws, chisels, gouges, drills, and others to obtain components necessary for assembly; assembles parts by fitting and securing them with glue, screws, or nails to form the designed assembly; installs carpentry fittings such as windows, doors, and other wooden components by fitting and securing them in appropriate, previously prepared locations to enable ventilation and lighting in urban areas while performing job duties.
