**Description** We are seeking a qualified **Automation Engineer** to join our technical team at the Boaventura Complex in Itaboraí. This professional will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of automated systems, as well as for preparing technical documentation and coordinating activities in the field of mechatronics. **Responsibilities and Duties** Develop, maintain, and continuously improve industrial automation systems, ensuring operational reliability, process safety, and compliance with applicable technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements. The professional will interact directly with operations, maintenance, engineering, and client teams, supporting process stability and performance of automated assets. Develop, maintain, and optimize industrial automation systems, including PLCs, DCSs, HMIs, and supervisory systems. Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of failures in automation, instrumentation, and control. Prepare, review, and validate control logic, interlocks, and control loops. Support commissioning, start-up, scheduled shutdowns, and field interventions. Act as the technical interface with automation system suppliers, integrators, and manufacturers. Ensure compliance with technical standards, internal procedures, and safety requirements. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including diagrams, descriptive reports, reports, and procedures. Support analyses of operational deviations, incidents, and corrective and preventive action plans. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reliability and operational efficiency. **Requirements and Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Control and Automation, or related fields). Experience in industrial automation. Knowledge of PLCs, DCSs, supervisory systems, and industrial instrumentation. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and control logic. Experience in an industrial environment, preferably in continuous processes or utilities.
