Job Summary:
Provides direct nursing care to patients in the Surgical Center and Surgical Care Unit, performing procedures and supporting the multidisciplinary team.

Surgical Center and Surgical Care Unit: Provide nursing care to patients, performing and observing technical procedures, following instructions and guidelines from nurses and physicians; oversee support and materials operations within the nursing service, observing standards and procedures to optimize controls, ensure appropriate use of material resources, and maintain quality standards of care delivered.
**Surgical Center Decontamination Area:** Receive and prepare materials for cleaning; assemble sterilization kits according to techniques, procedures, and instructions from the immediate supervisor.
**Surgical Care Unit:** Receive and prepare non-critical materials in the decontamination area according to techniques, procedures, and instructions from the immediate supervisor.
**Schedule:** 12x36 \- 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. \- July
**Salary:** R$2\.201,64 \+ 20% Hazard Pay

**Responsibilities and Duties**
Within the Surgical Center and Surgical Care Unit:
* Provide direct patient care at all levels of complexity, addressing compromised basic human needs;
* Admit patients by collecting clinical data and vital signs to initiate nursing care and prioritize special cases;
* Perform nursing care activities in accordance with medical prescriptions, ensuring proper anticipation of required materials;
* Prepare and administer medications via appropriate routes, per prescription and specific instructions;
* Monitor patient stability and integrity, maintaining communication channels with involved professionals;
* Perform other technical procedures such as: micro-nebulizations; general aspirations — oral, nasal, and tracheal — as prescribed by the nurse; venous punctures for medication or antibiotic administration; oxygen therapy administration per prescription; administration of specialized medications via infusion pumps; and full-body hygiene;
* Notify healthcare team members — nurses, physicians, and others — whenever necessary;
* Support the multidisciplinary team during activities related to direct nursing care to patients;
* Perform tasks scheduled in the task roster: cleaning and organizing the decontamination area; cleaning and disinfecting reusable materials; requisitioning and returning reusable materials; receiving and verifying patient materials and medications;
* Properly identify bodies in cases of death, per service routine;
* Monitor and replenish collective consumable materials, verifying needs and required approvals;
* Organize the workplace — cabinets, trays, countertops, etc. — maintaining appropriate hygiene and usability conditions;
* Conduct shift handover, prioritizing key patient complications to ensure personalized, high-quality care;
* Record consumable materials used in nursing notes on room sheets and verify all items used against the medical prescription;
* Review available sterilized materials and arrange replenishments and positioning based on identified needs.
* Maintain communication with nurses to stay aligned regarding patient progress and/or complications;
* Safeguard materials and equipment under one’s responsibility to extend their useful life;
* Within the Surgical Care Unit: Perform wound dressings per nurse and physician instructions;
* Reposition patients per established service routine;
* Record patient eliminations and observed characteristics — color, odor, and density — per medical prescription, reporting possible abnormalities to physicians and nurses;
* Within the Surgical Center:
* Ensure cleaning and disinfection of equipment to be used in surgeries, as well as availability of properly tested devices requested by physicians;
* Record processing stages to maintain traceability system data entry, namely: DECONTAMINATION — receipt of soiled materials, washing, preparation; ARSENAL — entry into arsenal, exit from arsenal to operating room;
* Circulate in the operating room, assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists, and instrumenting as needed per instructions and guidelines;
* Transport pre- and post-operative patients to inpatient units;
* Within the Surgical Center and Surgical Care Unit Decontamination Area:
* Wash materials, observing specific procedures and using appropriate resources;
* Within the Surgical Care Unit Decontamination Area:
* Assemble processable material kits, e.g., forceps, etc., for sterilization;
* Within the Surgical Center Decontamination Area:
* Receive materials from operating rooms, verify, record, and clean them by immersion in enzymatic detergent solutions — manual or automated —, rinse, dry, inspect, and prepare kits;
* Record prepared trays and forward them for sterilization;
* Within the Surgical Center Arsenal:
* Receive materials, trays, surgical kits, gowns, compresses, and surgical drapes, verifying and recording missing items;
* Perform other related tasks of equivalent difficulty level upon request from the immediate supervisor.
**Requirements and Qualifications**
Completed High School
Completed Technical Nursing Course
