Job Summary: A nursing professional responsible for managing and executing nursing activities in the surgical block and outpatient department, ensuring quality of care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on direct patient care and team supervision. Ensure quality of care and patient safety Works in the management and execution of nursing activities across various departments of the institution, including the surgical block and outpatient department, ensuring quality of care, patient safety, and compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards. This professional is responsible for planning, coordinating, and performing nursing procedures; providing direct patient care; supervising nursing teams; and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Works integrally across departments to promote continuity of care, efficient use of resources, and continuous improvement of clinical processes. Plans, coordinates, and supervises the nursing team in the surgical block and outpatient department, including scheduling, training, performance monitoring, and interdepartmental integration. Provides nursing care to patients throughout all phases of care (pre-, intra-, and post-procedure), ensuring safe and high-quality care for both surgical procedures and outpatient visits, including transfers to HEMG and UPA. Manages supplies, equipment, medical gases, sterilization, storage, and replenishment, ensuring availability, proper preservation, and quality—including osmosis testing and sterilization at Sterlink. Maintains records in systems, spreadsheets, and institutional documents, including pre-audit of medical records, loss control, surgical procedure tracking, delays, and cancellations. Ensures adherence to protocols, safety standards, safe surgery processes, institutional workflows, and counter-referrals; reports and evaluates adverse events; issues alerts and NCs (Non-Conformities) as required. Reports issues related to equipment, instruments, and supplies, requesting maintenance and restocking of materials. Participates in meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting CME, laboratories, corneal transplants, and interdepartmental workflows, ensuring operational efficiency and team development. Complies with internal company policies, processes, and guidelines, including the Code of Conduct and established Quality standards. Maintains confidentiality of internal information whenever necessary, as well as information inherent to each function, ensuring the confidentiality of data, documents, and organizational procedures. Supports other departmental and institutional activities as needed, contributing to the achievement of organizational objectives.
