About the opportunity We are seeking a Junior Python Backend Developer to work on the development, maintenance, and evolution of internal applications and services. This position is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in Python, interest in APIs, integrations, and databases, and a desire to grow technically in an environment that values organization, code quality, and continuous learning. As a plus, we seek professionals with interest in or familiarity with data processing, pipelines, and applied AI initiatives such as automation, RAG, and agents. Key Responsibilities * Develop, maintain, and evolve Python backend applications * Create, adjust, and sustain APIs and services * Implement integrations between systems (consuming and exposing APIs) * Work with business rules and systemic workflows * Perform data manipulation, transformation, and persistence * Support maintenance and evolution of existing endpoints * Work with relational databases and SQL queries * Implement input validation and error handling * Fix bugs and perform continuous improvements * Contribute to code organization, readability, and maintainability * Participate in code reviews, testing, and technical documentation * Support Python-based initiatives related to data, automation, and AI integrations Required Qualifications * Proficiency in Python * Basic understanding of backend development * Fundamental knowledge of REST APIs * Understanding of HTTP (methods, status codes, request/response) * Knowledge of JSON and data exchange between systems * Basic understanding of relational databases * Fundamental knowledge of SQL (queries and data manipulation) * Basic understanding of object-oriented programming * Fundamental knowledge of Git * Basic understanding of system integration * Ability to understand business rules and translate them into technical solutions * Willingness to learn, grow technically, and collaborate in a team Preferred Qualifications * Familiarity with FastAPI, Flask, or Django * Knowledge of Clean Code, SOLID, and Clean Architecture * Experience with data validation and API contracts * Familiarity with API documentation * Initial experience with automated testing * Basic understanding of Docker * Fundamental knowledge of authentication and authorization * Understanding of asynchronous processing, queues, or messaging * Experience (academic, personal, or professional) with Python-based data pipelines * Familiarity with libraries such as Pandas * Interest in or knowledge of applied AI (model APIs, automation, RAG, agents) * Basic understanding of cloud or deployment environments
