As a **Backend Software Engineer** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative and secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. Imagine\-yourself leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects and being **responsible for:** * Designing, developing, and maintaining Java microservices with a focus on performance and reliability. * Integrating with identity verification bureaus, external APIs, and internal systems. * Modeling and working with NoSQL and relational databases, as well as messaging systems. * Ensuring end-to-end observability by implementing metrics, structured logs, and distributed tracing, and supporting root cause analysis of production incidents. * Writing high-quality unit, integration, contract, E2E, and load tests, and actively participating in code reviews. * Contributing to technical decisions and architectural evolution by documenting solutions and standards. **What we’re looking for:** * Solid experience with Java, such as Spring Boot or similar frameworks, for backend development. * Experience designing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems in high-volume, low-latency environments. * Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Redis, DynamoDB), relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). * Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, observability tools such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry, or the Go programming language. * Experience in identity verification, KYC, or user onboarding contexts, with familiarity in data security practices and compliance regulations such as LGPD and fraud prevention. **Are you excited to leave your mark on Latin American technology?** Apply now and join our mission!
