As a **Senior Software Engineer** at Mercado Livre, you will design and scale innovative, secure systems that solve real-world, high-impact problems. Imagine yourself leading challenging, dynamic, and innovative projects, and being responsible for: * Being part of the Cloud and Platform team, with broad visibility into the development of our internal platform and exposure to projects impacting the entire Mercado Livre ecosystem. * Designing and developing scalable solutions for SRE initiatives, operating within a high-volume environment. * Focusing on component reuse, task automation, and development of supporting tools (e.g., CLIs), etc. * Actively participating in organizing, defining, and prioritizing the team’s backlog and roadmap. * Listening to service teams (e.g., handling support tickets, surveys, and chats) to understand their needs and improve the developer experience—then addressing those needs by building services with special emphasis on usability and documentation. * Continuously pursuing development and training in emerging technologies, applications, cloud providers, and services that can deliver broad benefits to teams. **What we’re looking for in you:** * Knowledge of SRE best practices—both conceptually and in implementation—as well as backend development and scripting languages. * Experience with cloud services: AWS (required), GCP and/or OCI (preferred), and observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, and Kibana. * Proficiency and hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot) and the API and microservices ecosystem. Knowledge of Go, Node.js, and/or Python is a plus. * Willingness to communicate across multiple teams and establish multilateral agreements to achieve the team’s tactical and strategic goals. * Availability to perform implementation, maintenance, or support tasks during nighttime hours.
