Description
**Responsibilities and duties:**
* **Technical studies and heavy-duty fleet specification**
* Sizing chassis, powertrain, and payload capacity according to mission cycle (urban/collector, rural routes, topography, and loads).
* Selecting **bodywork** and accessories (tanks, pumps, vacuum/hydrojet systems, cranes, PTOs, power take-offs), ensuring compatibility with the chassis and safety requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with **PROCONVE P8/Euro 6** (e.g., SCR, DPF) in specifications and operation/maintenance procedures.
* **Regulatory and normative compliance (projects and operations)**
* **NR‑12** (machine/implement safety, emergency stop systems, signage, training), integrated into the acceptance and commissioning process.
* **NR‑33** for activities involving **confined space hazards** (e.g., hydrovac operations in manholes/galleries), including Permit-to-Work (PET), atmospheric monitoring, and rescue plans.
* **Tachograph/chronotachograph**: technical requirements and subsequent verifications per **INMETRO Ordinances No. 481/2021 and No. 91/2022** (authorized service centers, sealing, testing).
* **ABNT NBR 16882 (tank truck)** and **ABNT NBR 6743 (bodywork/auxiliary axle installation)** where applicable to service configurations.
* **Implementation and commissioning**
* Conducting FAT/SAT, safety checklists (NR‑12\), instrumented tests (hydrojet pressure/flow, vacuum, unit stability), technical acceptance, and delivery plan to operations including field team training.
* Developing summarized operational manuals and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) (integrating NR‑33 for related activities).
* **Telematics, data, and performance**
* Specifying and implementing **telematics** (tracking, CAN/OBD P8, idling indicators, driving behavior, fuel consumption, and emissions) and performance dashboards; supporting control tower and maintenance teams. Market trends in Brazil indicate increasing adoption of telematics/AI and fleet modernization.
* **Maintenance and reliability (TCO)**
* Supporting maintenance engineering with **preventive and predictive maintenance policies** (e.g., oil analysis for engine/transmission/differential, vibration analysis on pumps), reducing corrective interventions and improving availability.
* Building **TCO/LCC models**, availability targets, consumption metrics, and cost per km/hour of work.
* **Supplier and project management**
* Leading RFI/RFP processes, technical/commercial analysis, OEM/bodybuilder homologation, and factory audits.
* Leading **pilot projects** (new technologies, safety items, alternative energy) and replicating approved standards.
**Requirements and qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Registration with the respective professional regulatory council.
* CNH (Brazilian National Driver’s License) preferred.
