




Job Summary: Technical specialist for OEM and Export responsible for applying automotive products, resolving paint-related issues, identifying customer needs, developing solutions, and delivering training. Management of relationships with OEM and export customers The Technical Specialist role in the OEM and Export area is responsible for efficiently applying Sherwin\-Williams automotive products at customer facilities, including manufacturing plants, distributors, dealerships, and auto body and paint shops. The incumbent will apply products and resolve common difficulties that may arise during painting/repainting processes, identify customer needs, and develop appropriate solutions. Additionally, they must deliver advanced refinish training courses to all customers. Become familiar with all products and recommended procedures for painting/repainting processes, including surface preparation and product application, demonstrating quality and productivity. Assist customers in selecting and correctly applying products to achieve optimal results. Support OEM and Export strategies through technical assistance as required. Develop knowledge/skills related to work techniques and methodologies. Assist in color verification and color formulation adjustment. Support OEM and Export operations in training activities at all levels. Develop training materials and implement them as needed to communicate information effectively, including in Spanish when required. Assist customers in configuring and implementing mixing systems. Be readily available to provide customer advisory/technical support. Build/manage relationships with all OEM and Export customers. Identify potential issues and establish solutions jointly with the Technical Department. Respond immediately to customer comments and complaints, and escalate to Customer Service (SAC) for appropriate handling. Possess knowledge of Sherwin\-Williams' competitive advantages. Serve as the primary source of technical expertise, staying current on industry and product developments. Control expenses, remaining within budget, and maintain necessary records/documentation, including submission of required reports, documentation, and summaries to coordination/management. Manage technical support travel budgets efficiently to ensure optimal use of time and company resources. Maintain accurate records of all demonstrations and work performed. Operate the vehicle in compliance with all state and federal laws, maintaining an acceptable personal driving record. Adhere to company safety standards at all times. Suggest new products for launch when opportunities arise. Implement or develop procedures to help customers avoid problems or improve their processes. Log all calls in Salesforce with detailed and accurate comments. * ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Required: Completed high school diploma or equivalent * Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field * LANGUAGE: Required: Advanced/Fluent Spanish Preferred: Intermediate English * KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: Required: Valid driver’s license At least 3–5 years of experience with automotive painting/repainting processes and products * Preferred: Experience in the automotive refinish market Prior sales experience * TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (TIME SPENT AWAY FROM HOME OR OTHER TYPICAL WORK LOCATION): 90%
