Perform rock drilling using drilling equipment for rock fragmentation, gallery excavation, rock anchoring, as well as roof support and equipment installation. **Responsibilities and duties** * Conduct pre-operational checklist, verifying the functionality of controls and electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; rigorously test the system according to its specific characteristics and required precautions before commencing work, in accordance with the operation manual and safety regulations. * Navigate within confined galleries and equipment zones containing energized devices, water and compressed air pipelines, while observing and complying with the underground mine traffic plan. * Carry out tasks according to instructions and service priorities set by the immediate supervisor, properly using required personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to standards, procedures, occupational safety & health requirements, environmental protection, quality, and social responsibility. * Wash drill rods and arms, lubricate components, top up oil levels, and verify tire pressure on operated equipment. * Maintain and ensure proper functioning of equipment and accessories used during operations, performing minor repairs and cleaning the work area. * Collaborate with supervision and other operators to manage roadway conditions and occupational safety & health conditions across various mine areas. * Interact with other operators and exchange information regarding operated equipment and associated tasks. * Report to the control room a summary of all completed activities, general status of equipment and workplace, and any abnormalities observed, to enable appropriate corrective actions. * Conduct visual inspection of the workplace, checking ventilation systems, emergency exits, communication systems, presence/occurrence of Choco (unstable rock blocks), existence of faults and/or blocked holes, water and air leaks, damage to electrical cables, and other issues; immediately report observed irregularities to the immediate supervisor. * Install equipment, laying electrical cables and hoses on opposite sides, and ensuring proper drainage of the channel. * Operate appropriate equipment for rock drilling and fragmentation according to the drilling pattern and containment plan, injecting grout/resin and installing anchoring cables, following supervisors’ instructions and standards established during training. * Interpret long-hole drilling project drawings according to surveying specifications. * Energize equipment by connecting the electrical cable plug into the socket. * Ensure correct parallelism and angle of desired drilling, adapting to variations in rock mass properties and the specified drilling pattern. * Replace centralizing bushings, re-tighten bolts and nuts, hose terminals, drill handles, and hoses for stages I and II; re-tighten hose connections and/or terminals exhibiting hydraulic leaks, as needed, per provided guidance and training. * Perform Choco sanitation operations on gallery roofs and sidewalls using Jumbo and bolting equipment (Boltec and Jumbo). * Inform auxiliary personnel involved in bolting and containment operations about relevant activity details and associated safety principles. * Perform maneuvers in tight, poorly lit, and low-visibility underground mine locations to carry out tasks stipulated in the equipment’s standard operating procedure manual. * Maintain equipment tooling and operational wear parts. * Perform minor mechanical repairs (e.g., replacing hydraulic hoses, bolts, guards, belts, re-tightening connections, etc.) as requested by the shift supervisor. **Requirements and qualifications** * Completed high school education * Experience working in underground mines * Driver’s license category B * Residence in Peixoto de Azevedo, Matupá, or Guarantã do Norte, MT. **Additional information** * Meals provided at the company * Company transportation * Life insurance * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Meal allowance * Christmas basket * Childcare support * Inclusion assistance * Occupational Risk Prevention (PRL) At P.A.
